Anthony Mantha Aims To Produce A 60-Point Campaign
1 year agoWashington Capitals right wing Anthony Mantha has set himself a lofty goal for the upcoming NHL season, aiming to produce a 60-point campaign. "My personal goal is 60 points this year and then to sign a long-term contract somewhere," Mantha recently told RDS, according to a translation. Mantha's current career-high in scoring stands at 48 points, and the 28-year-old settled for just 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists) in 67 games last season. He's looking to return to action 10 pounds lighter and is fired up ahead of his contract year. "I need to have a big season," Mantha added. "Let's face it, this is the last year of my contract, and I'd like to bounce back. It's practically a second chance after last season. I've had other less successful seasons in the NHL or AHL, so I know how to come back strong."
