Angels "Expressing Strong Interest" In Tim Anderson
1 year agoAccording to a source, the Los Angeles Angels are reportedly "expressing strong interest" in former Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson. With Zach Neto at shortstop, the Angels could choose to move Anderson to second base after his extremely disappointing 2023 campaign. Luis Rengifo is penciled in at second base in Anaheim right now, but he has the versatility to move elsewhere if the Angels end up signing Anderson. The 30-year-old's stock is down big time after Chicago declined his $14 million team option for 2024. He had a terrible .582 OPS in 524 plate appearances while hitting .245/.286/.296 with one home run, 25 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 493 at-bats. Still, Anderson hit at least .301 every year from 2019-22 and could regain his form with a change of scenery.
