Andres Gimenez Goes Deep, Eyes Bounce-Back June
Andres Gimenez homered in Tuesday night's 9-8 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Gimenez opened the scoring with a 387-foot, three-run blast in the first inning and later added an RBI single. The 26-year-old went 2-for-5 with four RBI and five total bases. After missing much of May with a quad injury, Gimenez appears to be settling back into his role nicely. In his first season with Toronto, he is slashing .213/.287/.333 with a .620 OPS. The glove-first infielder will look to contribute in any way possible as the Blue Jays push to catch the New York Yankees atop the AL East.
