Detroit Red Wings center Andreas Athanasiou scored a goal and an assist during a 3-2 shootout win over the New York Rangers on Thursday night. He also chipped in five shots, one hit, a plus-two rating, and the shootout winner in 24:13 of ice time. Athanasiou was using his speed to full effect all evening and made good on his increased opportunity with Dylan Larkin (back) out of the lineup. Athanasiou now has 23 goals and 18 assists through 61 games this season. He remains a viable depth candidate in deeper league formats. Tyler Bertuzzi also scored in the contest while Madison Bowey picked up an assist to notch his first point as a Red Wing. The team will be back in action on Saturday against the league-leading Tampa Bay Lightning.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
