Andre Drummond 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoDetroit Pistons center Andre Drummond seems to have been around forever but he only turned 26 this August, which means he's entered the prime of his career. He had a wonderful season in 2018-19, posting new career-highs in points (17.3) and steals (1.7), while being a beast on the boards as usual. Drummond was by far the best rebounder in the league, pulling down 15.6 boards a night which was two more than Joel Embiid who was next on the list. The two-time All-Star also led the league in double-doubles with 69. We can expect him to produce similar numbers in 2019-20, as the Pistons haven't changed much over the summer. Blake Griffin remains the focal point on offense in Detroit, but Drummond remains a productive sidekick, and he's pretty much the only guy in the league who can drop a 20-20 line in back-to-back games like it isn't anything special. He has reached 1,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 100 blocks and 100 steals in four seasons, which is the most in league history since they started to record steals and blocks in 1973–74. Drummond's only flaw is his free throw efficiency. He shot only 59 percent at the charity stripe in 2018-19.
