Alvin Kamara Was Slowed By Injuries Last Year
4 years agoNew Orleans Saints running backs coach Joel Thomas said that running back Alvin Kamara played through knee, ankle and back injuries in 2019. Despite missing two games and playing hurt for much of the year, Kamara had 171 carries for 797 yards (4.7 yards per carry) and five touchdowns, adding 81 receptions for 533 yards and one touchdown through the air. His six overall touchdowns were disappointing for his fantasy owners, but it makes sense why his numbers were down slightly last season. But Kamara still managed to finish as a low-end RB1, and he should bounce back, especially in the TD department, with better health behind one of the better offensive lines in football. Consider the 24-year-old (25 in July) a safe top-six fantasy running back.
