Alexandar Georgiev Continues Winning Streak With Fifth Shutout
2 years agoColorado Avalanche goaltender Alexandar Georgiev won a fifth consecutive start on Monday, shutting out Chicago with 27 saves in a 5-0 win. The 27-year-old is now on five shutouts for the campaign, and Philipp Grubauer (7) and Craig Anderson (7) are the only goalies in the past 20 years to record more over a single season with the Avalanche. Georgiev had some struggles during the early parts of the season, but he's looked superb over the last couple of months, going 12-2-2 in his last 16 starts. He's 32-14-0 overall for the season and has registered a 2.58 goals-against average with a .920 save percentage.
