Washington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin set the NHL record for most points scored in a career by a Russian-born player on Tuesday night against the Vancouver Canucks. Ovechkin recorded a first-period assist on a goal by T.J. Oshie to give him 1180 career points, one better than fellow countryman Sergei Fedorov. Ovechkin is a fantasy monster, and he has shown no signs of slowing down. He now has 37 goals, 21 assists, 16 power-play points, 202 shots, and 150 hits through 52 games this season. Jakub Vrana and Evgeny Kuznetsov both had two points in the 3-2 win while Brett Connolly also chipped in a goal. The Capitals will be back in action on Thursday against the Colorado Avalanche.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
