Alex Gordon Drills Fourth Homer
6 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon is working on winning Comeback Player of the Year so far. Gordon went 2-for-5 in Sunday's loss to the Yankees including his fourth home run of the season as he played a critical role in the team's six-run eighth inning comeback that briefly gave them the lead. He also made waves as the recipient of a generous call from the umpires on Saturday as they ruled that a fan interfered with Gordon robbing a home run. Gordon has been on fire so far this season, hitting .316 with four home runs, 20 RBI, and 14 runs scored so far. His contact rate has been at the heart of the shift. Gordon is making contact 83% of the time, way above his career average of 77%, and the proof is in the pudding. It really looks like he's adopted a new approach at the plate, and it is working wonders for the 35-year-old. If a fantasy owner is going to invest in Gordon, now's the time to do it.
