Alcides Escobar Hits 40th Career Home Run
7 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar reached a milestone in Oakland on Thursday night by knocking out his 40th career home run. The 11-year veteran has converted to a more power-heavy approach so far in 2018, knocking a career-best 4.6% of his fly balls into the seats, and it shows as he's already at three home runs on the season. With his new power swing, Esky is on pace to hit eight home runs this season, 14% more than his current single-season record of seven. Unfortunately, his bomb wasn't enough to propel the team to victory as the Royals lost again.
