Albert Wilson 2021 Outlook: Athletic Slot Man Without a Role
4 years agoAlbert Wilson has never had more than 554 receiving yards in a season. He is now in his seventh year in the league and 29 years old. He had a couple moments over his last two seasons with the Dolphins where injuries around him propelled him into a more prominent role. This season, Wilson will be lucky to even make the team. The Dolphins completely revamped their wide receivers behind DeVante Parker. The team signed Will Fuller and drafted Jaylen Waddle in the first round. I expect Waddle to start immediately in the slot in three receiver sets and when the Dolphins go to four receivers, Preston Williams is the next man in. After that, we're looking at Lynn Bowden, Jakeem Grant, Allen Hurns, and possibly Wilson. If I had to guess, Wilson ends up a roster size casualty. He may latch on somewhere else as a warm body/practice squad guy, but his days of being a name to care about in fantasy are over.
