Albert Almora Jr. Removed As Precaution Friday
6 years agoChicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon said that outfielder Albert Almora Jr. was pulled from the game on Friday as a precaution after he was banged up on a catch at the wall. Almora was hitless with two strikeouts in his three plate appearances on Friday night before leaving the game. He's hitting a mediocre .241/.285/.400 with seven home runs, 26 runs, 21 RBI and two steals in 211 plate appearances. Almora doesn't walk enough to help in on-base percentage and doesn't have much power to speak of. He's a better defensive player than offensive one and is mostly an NL-only asset for depth. There's a chance he's held out on Saturday, but make sure you check the lineups first before setting yours.
