Adbert Alzolay Struggles in Second Appearance
4 years agoChicago Cubs pitching prospect Adbert Alzolay melted down during his second appearance of the spring. He allowed five runs on four hits and two walks over 1.1 innings of work. Alzolay is looking to secure a role on the 26-man roster either as a starter or as a long-man out of the bullpen. Now 26-years-old, Alzolay is entering his ninth season of pro ball and has just 33.2 innings of experience in the majors. But he's also coming off a season where he posted a 2.95 ERA and allowed just 12 hits in 21.2 innings for the Cubs. He has the raw stuff to develop into a No. 4 starter.
