Adam Thielen Upset With Direction Of Offense
5 years agoMinnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen spoke out on the team's offense after a 16-6 loss to the Bears in Week 4. The Vikings had just 59 total yards of offense in the first half and quarterback Kirk Cousins was 9-for-14 passing for 53 yards with two minutes left in the third quarter. "At some point, you're not going to be able to run the ball for 180 yards, even with the best running back in the NFL," Thielen said. "That's when you have to be able to throw the ball. You have to be able to make plays. You have to be able to hit the deep balls. You have to do that." Thielen had just two catches for six yards in the loss. After four weeks, Thielen ranks 40th in the NFL with 26 targets, and Minnesota's run-first game plan has really hurt both Thielen's and Stefon Diggs' upside as WR2s.
