Adam Thielen 2022 NFL Player Outlook: Bounce Back Year Expected From The Steadily Productive Veteran
2 years agoThe Minnesota Vikings haven't changed their offense at all this offseason, which means wide receiver Adam Thielen will be, once more, the No. 2 wide receiver in town. All of the wide receivers Justin Jefferson, K.J. Osborn, running back Dalvin Cook, and quarterback Kirk Cousins stayed put, so there won't be significant changes in how this time operates, which is nothing to be worried about. Cousins has finished inside the top-15 QB realm in all past seven seasons and as a top-11 QB in six of those seven years; in other words, you should trust his production more than you (or at least most fantasy GMs) do these days. On top of that, Adam Thielen is still a bona fide WR2/WR3 in the fantasy realm, already accounting for missing time (he was out in six, one, and four games in the past three years, in order). The TD% is insane (6, 14, and 10 touchdowns in the past three seasons), and he doesn't even have to be on the field that much to produce mighty figures. There might be some doubts about his long-term availability and health after missing time recently and as he ages, but there aren't many better receivers available at his ADP. Assuming Thielen stays healthy for the 17 games of the 2022 season, he should be a lock to finish the year as a top-20 player at his position and no lower than a top-70 overall. Thielen has averaged at least 15.0 PPR points per game in four of his last five years, and the time he didn't (11.4 in 2019) was when he played banged up and could just complete 10 games for the Vikings. Set-it-and-forget-it type of player, no matter the league or format.
