7 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop/second baseman Adalberto Mondesi (shoulder) was activated from the disabled list on Monday and assigned to Triple-A Omaha. Mondesi, formerly known as Raul, had been sidelined since spring training due to a shoulder injury. With major league shortstop Alcides Escobar flirting with the Mendoza line once again, it would seem like a prime opportunity for Mondesi, but manager Ned Yost has shown unrelenting faithfulness to Escobar. Expect Mondesi to remain in the minors for at least the majority of the season unless Escobar suddenly injures himself while trying to get out of the box after hitting into another double play.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
