A.J. Rose Jr. Continues To Fight For Roster Spot

Minnesota Vikings running back A.J. Rose Jr. had six carries for 41 yards and two touchdowns versus the Kansas City Chiefs. Regardless of how well he performed in the preseason, there is virtually no chance the rookie will supplant Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison on the depth chart. However, he's made a compelling case to be the RB3 up North. The former Kentucky Wildcat isn't listed on the Vikings' depth chart, with Ameer Abdullah and Kene Nwangwuare still listed ahead of him, but that may change. There's no fantasy appeal in redraft and keeper leagues for Rose while Cook and Mattison continue to block him from getting any consistent playing time, even if one of them gets injured. Still, his successful preseason warrants a pick-up in dynasty leagues, as Rose does appear to have the physical traits necessary to be a workhorse running back.
