A.J. Dillon To Have A Bigger Role In 2021?
3 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back A.J. Dillon, a second-rounder last year, finished the regular season with just 46 carries for 242 yards (5.3 yards per carry) and two touchdowns while serving as the third back behind Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams. He also missed five games with COVID-19 and played only 97 snaps (9.34 percent). But Dillon did rush the ball 21 times for 124 yards and both of his touchdowns on Dec. 27 against the Titans. Running backs coach Ben Sirmans said the team plans to lean on Dillon, who has looked much more comfortable in the offense, much more this year with Williams gone. Dillon isn't much of a pass-catcher, so expect him to see more early down work at the expense of Jones. If quarterback Aaron Rodgers sticks around, Dillon should have flex appeal in standard-scoring leagues with a bigger role this season.
