NFL DFS Lineup Picks For FanDuel, DraftKings - Vikings vs. Rams TNF Showdown (Week 8)

Justin Jefferson - Fantasy Football Rankings, DFS Lineup Picks, NFL Injury News

Koby Hanson has his top NFL DFS lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings for tonight's Thursday Night Football Vikings vs. Rams showdown slate for Week 8.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! That Cardinals game on Monday was quite the snoozefest up until the end. It did not go how I had imagined but that is okay as there is always the next game. This one should be a solid Thursday night game as Sam Darnold and the Minnesota Vikings look to bounce back from last week's loss as they take on Matthew Stafford and the L.A. Rams.

I'll do my best to provide you with as much analysis as possible regarding positional matchups and it's up to you to try to predict the game script for tonight's contest. It looks like Cooper Kupp will be rejoining the team, so keep an eye on that as there may be news on his snap share and such as we get closer to game time!

I will provide you with daily fantasy football picks on FanDuel and DraftKings for the Vikings vs. Rams NFL DFS showdown slate on October 24. These NFL DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. If you have any questions, follow me on X @DFSKoby and fire away, or sign up for a premium RotoBaller NFL package and chat with me and other NFL DFS analysts whenever you'd like!

MVP/Captain Plays

Justin Jefferson - WR, Minnesota Vikings - $17.7K (DK), $16K (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: 51 targets, 33 receptions, 531 receiving yards, five touchdowns

JJettas has yet to disappoint this season, as he has had at least 12 fantasy points in every game this season and 17+ in four of them. He is averaging 8.5 targets a game and bringing in nearly 65% of them. He has also had a touchdown in all but one game this season.

The Rams haven't given up a lot of fantasy points this season to WRs but they have let up seven TDs. With that being said, Jefferson should be able to get it done and be one of the highest-scoring on the slate.

Kyren Williams - RB, L.A. Rams - $16.8K (DK), $15.5K (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: 116 rushing attempts, 436 rushing yards, eight touchdowns, 14 receptions, 71 receiving yards, one receiving touchdown

Kyren Williams is a true workhorse. He has a streak of eight straight games with a touchdown and has two games this season with multiple touchdowns. He is also averaging 21.5 carries a game across the last four games. He was featured in the receiving game a little bit at the beginning of the season but that has seemed to come less and less as the season has gone on.

The Vikings have a tough run defense, allowing only three touchdowns to RBs this season. But with the way the Rams feed Williams, I wouldn't be surprised if he continues his touchdown streak and his double-digit fantasy streak this season as well.

Other Captains/MVPs: Sam Darnold, Cooper Kupp

DFS Flex Plays

Cooper Kupp - WR, L.A. Rams - $11K (DK), $12K (FD)

Cooper Kupp was targeted 21 times in Week 1 this season before he went down with an injury in Week 2. Although Kupp may be limited slightly, I still think he will come back and lead the team in targets. The Vikings this season have also given up the most fantasy points to opposing WRs, which makes Kupp coming back that much better as he should be in for a solid night.

Aaron Jones - RB, Minnesota Vikings - $9.6K (DK), $12K (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: 85 rushing attempts, 443 rushing yards, two touchdowns, 20 receptions, 190 receiving yards, one receiving touchdown

Aaron Jones has been one of the best fantasy RBs in the NFL this year. He is also been a solid pass-catching back this year, averaging just over three receptions and 32 receiving yards a game. The Rams this season have given up the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing RBs. Jones has 15+ fantasy points in four of his six games and I'm expecting another one added here tonight.

Other Flex Options: Jordan Addison, Will Reichard, Matthew Stafford

DFS Value Plays

Johnny Mundt - TE, Minnesota Vikings - $2.8K (DK), $6.5K (FD)

This is purely a matchup play, as Johnny Mundt hasn't been the best for getting fantasy points this season, but he gets a fantastic matchup against the Rams, who give up the second-most fantasy points to opposing TEs. Mundt plays roughly 65% of snaps this season and has seen a few more targets recently. With how cheap Mundt is, we don't need much from him to secure decent value.

Tutu Atwell - WR, L.A. Rams - $4.2K (DK), $10.5K (FD)

This is a play geared toward those on DK, as he is still pretty pricy on FD as they didn't compensate for the fact Cooper Kupp is likely back from IR. That being said, I still like Atwell to garner some targets, as Kupp may still be limited slightly and Atwell has been one of Stafford's favorite targets after the injuries to Kupp and Puka Nacua.

Tutu will likely be lined up in the slot, which gives him a great matchup against Byron Murphy Jr., who is giving up .40 fantasy points per route run this season. I'm not sure I would play him on FD as he is quite expensive, but on DK, he is fantastic value.

Other Value Plays: Jalen Nailor, Colby Parkinson

Enjoy your week, and good luck, everyone!
