MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/13/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Ketel Marte - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB injury News

Free daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for today's slate on DraftKings, FanDuel. Use Euan's MLB DFS expert picks to build winning DFS lineups on June 13, 2024.

Happy Thursday, RotoBallers! There are seven games to occupy our Thursday evening in baseball DFS. FanDuel has included all seven matchups in their main contest, but DraftKings is skipping the 6:50 p.m. EDT game between the Cubs and Rays. So the FD contests will lock when the Cubs-Rays game starts, but DraftKings has a later lock time of 7:10 p.m. EDT when the Phillies-Red Sox and Marlins-Mets games begin.

Aaron Nola is having a classic bounce-back Aaron Nola season in 2024, but he'll want to watch out for this Boston squad. Over the last month, Boston has been a top-10 offense against right-handed hurlers in average, ISO, OPS, and wOBA. The only thing DFS managers should worry about regarding the weather is the wind. Strong gusts are expected in New York and Minnesota.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 6/13/2024 and the slate locking at 6:50 p.m. EDT and 7:10 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Joe Ryan - RHP, MIN vs. Athletics ($9.5K DraftKings; $10.8K FanDuel)

When Joe Ryan has the strikeouts rolling, the DFS points follow in waves. Ryan has recorded at least six strikeouts in five games in his previous nine starts. When the Twins starter reaches that number, he averages 28.06 DraftKings PPG compared to 9.73 in the four games where he didn't collect six strikeouts. Fortunately, the 28-year-old shouldn't have much trouble getting to six strikeouts against Oakland. Over the last month, the Athletics lead baseball with a 27.9 percent strikeout rate to right-handed pitchers, along with the second-worst OPS (.620) and wOBA (.276).

Luis Castillo - RHP, SEA vs. White Sox ($8.5K DK; $9.9K FD)

When you look at Luis Castillo's numbers, he has a bang-on-average season. The Mariners righty is 5-7 with a 3.35 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 85 strikeouts in 83 1/3 innings. The advanced numbers (3.64 xERA) suggest he's pitching within the expected outcomes, and that's okay as a high-end SP2 option for DraftKings. However, a matchup with Chicago gives him a chance to be better than average on Thursday. Since May 14, the White Sox strikeout the third-most (26.1 percent) to RHPs and sit inside the bottom four teams for OPS (.629), wOBA (.280), and wRC+ (80).

Also Consider: Garrett Crochet at SEA, Aaron Nola at BOS, Tanner Houck vs. PHI, Luis Severino vs. MIA

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Pete Alonso - 1B, NYM vs. Roddery Munoz ($5.1K DK; $3.5K FD)

It hasn't been the contract year that Pete Alonso was hoping for in 2024. Through 65 games, the Mets first baseman is posting career lows in ISO (.232), OBP (.317), SLG (.468), and wOBA (.340). Fortunately, his numbers seem to be heating up along with the weather. Since May 30, the 29-year-old owns a .916 OPS with eight runs, six RBI, five doubles, and two home runs, averaging 9.4 DK PPG. Alonso's opponent, Roddery Munoz, has a 32.0 percent HR/FB rate and a 48.1 percent Hard Hit rate. This is one of the best matchups on the slate, and Alonso can use it to his advantage to keep the good times rolling.

Ketel Marte - 2B, ARI vs. Griffin Canning ($5.1K DK; $3.7K FD)

Ketel Marte is having the best year of his career since his juiced-ball-induced breakout season in 2019. He had a few down years due to injuries and then what looked like some declining skills, but he bounced back in 2024. Arizona's second baseman won't match his career-high 32 home runs from 2019 ever again, but he's on pace for 26-27 longballs, which would set a new five-year high for the 30-year-old. Among second baseman on today's slate, Marte's 16.7 FD PPG over the last 10 games is 4.1 PPG higher than his next-best challenger, Mookie Betts.

Paul DeJong - SS, CWS at Luis Castillo ($3.3K DK; $3.0K FD) - Better on DraftKings

If you don't believe in Castillo, grabbing the red-hot Paul DeJong is an excellent play on Thursday's slate. The veteran shortstop has been mashing the baseball over the last week and a half and is shooting up the White Sox batting order. Last Friday, DeJong was hitting sixth in this White Sox lineup, and yesterday, he slotted into the cleanup role. In the previous 10 games, the 30-year-old owns a 1.047 OPS with eight runs, 10 RBI, seven extra-base hits (five home runs), and a steal, averaging 11.1 DK PPG. His price is far more manageable on DK than FD and is worth the power punt on the six-game slate.

Also consider: Freddie Freeman, Mark Vientos, Willi Castro, Carlos Correa, Christopher Morel - FD only

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Teoscar Hernandez - OF, LAD vs. Michael Lorenzen ($5.5K DK; $4.0K FD)

It's hard to stand out on a team with Freddie Freeman, Shohei Ohtani, and Mookie Betts, but Teoscar Hernandez is doing his best. While Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto received all the headlines, Hernandez has quietly been an incredible addition to the Dodgers lineup. The 31-year-old sports a .848 OPS on the year, but it's risen to 1.128 in the last 10 games. Over the previous six games, the former Blue Jays outfielder has 10 hits, and eight have gone for extra bases. Combine that power with seven runs, 12 RBI, and a steal, and it's easy to figure out how Hernandez averages 20 DK PPG in that stretch.

Seiya Suzuki - OF, CHC at Taj Bradley ($3,300) - FanDuel only

The calendar was about to flip to June, and then Seiya Suzuki became an extra-base machine. Since May 30, the Cubs outfielder has collected eight extra-base hits (four home runs) in 11 games, and his .613 SLG is 20th among 183 qualified hitters. The Cubs-Rays game is only available on FanDuel's seven-game slate, so don't look for him on DraftKings. Regardless, Suzuki bats in the heart of Chicago's order and will have plenty of runners on base against Taj Bradley. Chicago's 9.5 percent walk rate leads the league versus RHPs, and Taj Bradley has allowed three free passes in two of his previous three trips to the mound.

David Dahl - PF, PHI at Tanner Houck ($3.2K DK; $2.4K FD)

There are many expensive options on Thursday's slate, so finding cheap enablers will be the key to building a star-studded lineup. David Dahl came up from the minors on June 3 and has found a home in the bottom half of Philadelphia's lineup. It's been a solid start to his Phillies tenure, with three runs, three RBI, two doubles, two home runs, and a 1.200 OPS through five games. With right-handed Tanner Houck on the mound, Dahl will get another chance to prove himself and build on his impressive start with Philly.

Also consider: Jarren Duran, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., J.D. Martinez, Gavin Sheets, Cody Bellinger - FD only
