Fernando Tatis Jr. - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on October 9, 2024. Mike Barner's MLB DFS sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Wednesday is filled with playoff action, with all eight remaining teams in action. That means we will have one of our larger remaining slates of the season on DraftKings and FanDuel.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/9/2024, with the slate starting at 3:08 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Good luck, RotoBallers!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Seth Lugo vs. NYY ($8,500 DraftKings; $9,900 FanDuel)

Lugo was excellent during the regular season, producing a 3.00 ERA and a 3.25 FIP. While he didn’t miss a ton of bats, he had just a 5.7% walk rate, and he allowed only 0.7 HR/9. In the Wild Card Round, he logged 4.1 innings and gave up one run to the Orioles. The Yankees are just 3-for-19 with runners in scoring position over the first two games of this series, so don’t be surprised if Lugo gives them problems.

Clarke Schmidt at KC ($7,900 DraftKings; $9,100 FanDuel)

Like Lugo, Schmidt does a good job of keeping hitters inside the ballpark. During the regular season, he gave up just 0.8 HR/9. He also produced a career-high 26.3% strikeout rate. Schmidt didn’t log more than 5.2 innings in any of his five starts since coming off the injured list, but he did throw at least 99 pitches in two of his last three outings, so he won’t be on any sort of a pitch limit.

Also consider: Alex Cobb at DET

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Francisco Lindor – SS, NYM vs. Ranger Suarez ($5,400 DK; $3,900 FD)

Lindor is 3-for-13 with two walks, three runs scored, and one RBI in this series with the Phillies. Teams have been careful with him during the playoffs, which has resulted in Lindor drawing six walks across six games. Look for him to cause problems for Suarez, who produced a 1.74 WHIP over his final 11 starts during the regular season.

Mark Vientos – 3B, NYM vs. Ranger Suarez ($4,200 DK; $3,500 FD)

Vientos needs to be considered whenever the Mets are facing a left-handed pitcher. He didn’t exactly struggle with a .347 wOBA against right-handed pitchers, but he had a .375 wOBA versus lefties. Vientos also hasn’t looked overmatched in the playoffs, hitting 10-for-24 with two home runs and a double.

Also consider: Pete Alonso, Alec Bohm

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Fernando Tatis Jr. – OF, SD vs. TBD ($5,700 DK; $4,100 FD)

Tatis has dominated this series, going 6-for-12 with three home runs and two doubles. In the previous round, he went 4-for-6 with a home run against the Braves. The Dodgers are going with a bullpen game, which is tough for them since they are facing elimination. A parade of relievers could leave Tatis with another juicy stat line.

Jurickson Profar – OF/1B, SD vs. TBD ($3,900 DK; $3,100 FD)

Profar is coming off the best season of his career. He slugged 24 home runs to go along with a .365 wOBA. He showed an excellent eye at the plate, posting an 11.4% walk rate and a 15.1% strikeout rate. The Padres are going to be one of the top teams to stack based on the Dodgers’ pitching situation, but some of their hitters have hefty salaries. Profar is a good addition to any Padres stack to help balance those out.

Also consider: Jackson Merrill, Kerry Carpenter

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. Mets vs. Ranger Suarez

  • Favorite Plays: Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, Mark Vientos

2. Padres vs. TBD

  • Favorite Plays: Fernando Tatis Jr., Jackson Merrill, Jurickson Profar
