MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (10/8/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Michael King - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Free daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for today's slate on DraftKings, FanDuel. Use Euan's MLB DFS expert picks to build winning DFS lineups on October 8, 2024.

Happy Tuesday, RotoBallers! After the American League wrapped up their Game 2s on Monday night, we turn to pivotal Game 3s in the NLDS tonight. Both series are perfectly poised at one game apiece, and a Game 3 win will be a huge boost to a team's chances of advancing to the NLCS.

Philadelphia and New York traded late-inning body blows in the first couple of games, and it will be interesting to see how they respond on Tuesday. Meanwhile, after a comeback win in Game 1, Los Angeles suffered a heavy defeat to San Diego in Game 2.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/8/2024 and the slate locking at 5:08 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Michael King - RHP, SD vs. Dodgers ($8.7K DraftKings; $9.9K FanDuel)

It's hard to go against a pitcher in the form that Michael King is displaying. The main return piece of the offseason in the Juan Soto deal has had a sparkling debut season in San Diego. In a career-high 173 innings, King produced a 2.95 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 201 strikeouts.

The 29-year-old was spectacular and reliable in the second half of the year. In 14 of his final 17 regular-season starts, King reached at least six strikeouts. He also annihilated the Braves in the Wild Card round with seven innings of shutout baseball with 12 strikeouts for 67 FanDuel points.

Sean Manaea - LHP, NYM vs. Phillies ($7.7K DK; $8.5K FD)

Most people will look at Tuesday's matchup between the Mets and Phillies and back Philadelphia to win because they see the name brand of Aaron Nola on the mound. However, Sean Manaea outpitched his NL East foe in the second half of the year.

Across 85 1/3 innings, the Mets left-handed hurler twirled a 3.48 ERA with a 0.94 WHIP and a 26 percent strikeout rate. The 32-year-old faced Philadelphia three times in the regular season and produced at least 20.5 DraftKings points in two of those three outings.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Shohei Ohtani - 1B/OF, LAD at Michael King ($6.5K DK; $5.0K FD)

It's too contrarian to completely fade Shohei Ohtani, given his current form and past success against San Diego's pitcher. In the soon-to-be NL MVP's career against Michael King, Ohtani is 6-for-14 with two doubles and three home runs for a ludicrous 1.681 OPS.

Mark Vientos -1B/3B, NYM vs. Aaron Nola ($4.2K DK; $3.5K FD)

The Mets are playing their sixth game of the 2024 postseason, and Mark Vientos already had a handful of clutch hits. The corner infielder is 8-for-20 (.400) through six games with five runs, seven RBI, a double, and two home runs. That power deserves to be in your lineups.

Gavin Lux - 2B, LAD at Michael King ($3.5K DK; $2.7K FD)

There are plenty of stars to pick from in the Dodgers lineup, but Gavin Lux offers some exposure at a much better cost. The second baseman sports a six-game hitting streak reaching back to the regular season, and he's 3-for-7 with a run and RBI in the first two games of the West Coast NLDS.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Brandon Nimmo - OF, NYM vs. Aaron Nola ($4.0K DK; $3.2K FD)

Brandon Nimmo is on an eight-game hitting streak dating back to the regular season. The outfielder is also 4-for-9 in the NLDS with two runs, three RBI, and a home run. Nimmo bats third for a dangerous Mets lineup where he's sandwiched between the powerful duo of Vientos and Pete Alonso.

Jurickson Profar - OF/1B, SD vs. Walker Buehler ($3.8K DK; $3.1K FD)

At his DraftKings price, Jurickson Profar is a smash play. You're getting a middle-of-the-order hitter for $3.8K. The Padres utility bat is a little bit harder to fit in on FD, but you are buying four or possibly five plate appearances in one of the hottest lineups in baseball.

Austin Hays - OF, PHI at Sean Manaea ($2.3K DK; $2.4K FD)

Philadelphia hasn't faced a Southpaw since the regular season, but Austin Hays regularly got a spot in the lineup when they did face a lefty. The outfielder is another dirt cheap option on both sites and enables you to load up at other spots up and down your lineup.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. New York Mets vs. Aaron Nola - RHP, PHI

Favorite Plays: Mark Vientos, Brandon Nimmo, Pete Alonso

2. San Diego Padres vs. Walker Buehler - RHP, LAD

Favorite Plays: Fernando Tatis Jr., Xander Bogaerts, Jake Cronenworth
