MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (10/29/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Giancarlo Stanton - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on October 29, 2024. Euan Leith's MLB DFS sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Game 4 of the World Series, RotoBallers! After Los Angeles won the first two games on the West Coast, they went into New York on Monday night and came away with a commanding 3-0 series lead.

The focus quickly shifts to a decisive Game 4. It's a win-or-go-home game for the Yankees as they look to avoid the first World Series sweep in 12 years (Giants over Tigers) and continue their push for their first title since 2009.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/29/2024, with the slate beginning at 8:08 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential.

Pitchers - MLB DFS Showdown Picks

You can't roster pitchers on FanDuel, just five hitters. Pitchers are in the player pool on DraftKings.

Luis Gil vs. LAD ($10.8K DraftKings; $16.2K DK CPT)

Considering the Dodgers are throwing a bullpen game at New York for Game 4, Luis Gil is the only pitching option available for DFS managers tonight. The right-hander has only made one start during the postseason, and it went... okay.

In Game 4 against Cleveland, Gil allowed two runs, three hits, and three walks while striking out three over four innings. The walks are a concern against a Dodgers squad with the most walks (58) taken in the postseason. Gil should be avoided unless you want to be ultra-contrarian.

Top Hitters - MLB DFS Showdown Picks

Giancarlo Stanton - OF, NYY vs. Dodgers Bullpen ($9.0K DK, $13.5K DK CPT, $7.5K FanDuel)

While some New York outfielders have faded in the postseason spotlight, Giancarlo Stanton has thrived under the bright lights. Through 12 games, the 2017 NL MVP owns a .298/.365/.745 slash line with seven runs, 14 RBI, and nine extra-base hits (six home runs).

The not-Judge-or-Soto discount has disappeared because he's playing better than his teammates. However, he's still worth grabbing for the slight savings you can get and adding that into other spots in your lineup.

Freddie Freeman – 1B, LAD at Luis Gil ($8.0K DK, $12.0K DK CPT, $7.5K FD)

Death, taxes, and Freddie Freeman hitting home runs in the World Series. The first baseman's streak is up to a ridiculous five games, and there's no reason to jump off the hype train. The 35-year-old will walk away with his first World Series MVP award if the Dodgers finish the series tonight.

Also consider: Shohei Ohtani, Juan Soto, Mookie Betts

Top Value - MLB DFS Showdown Picks

Will Smith - C, LAD at Luis Gil ($6.4K DK, $9.6K DK CPT, $5.5K FD)

The 2024 postseason hasn't been the best for Will Smith, but he's come up with crucial contributions in big moments. He had a two-run home run in an elimination game versus the Padres and another two-run longball in the series-clinching win over the Mets.

The Dodgers catcher only has two hits in his last five games, but they've both gone for extra bases. Plus, this is still a reasonably cheap bat in the best lineup in baseball. With a righty on the mound, he should move back up the order and hit behind Max Muncy in the six hole.

Alex Verdugo - OF, NYY vs. Dodgers Bullpen ($5.0K DK, $7.5K FD), $5.0K FD)

The bottom third of the Yankees order hasn't been able to pick up the slack for the top half of the lineup, but Alex Verdugo did enough on Monday to keep his spot in the lineup. A two-run home run from the outfielder was the only offense New York could conjure up, so it's a safe bet that Aaron Boone will keep Verdugo in the lineup. Also, he's a cheap route to get some guaranteed at-bats.

Also consider: Anthony Rizzo, Enrique Hernandez, Austin Wells
