Welcome to Week 3 of baseball! Not to toot my own horn in this segment but I took down my first tourney of the young season yesterday and am en fuego. That means listen closely but try not to join my tourneys!
Who am I liking today? Do I pay up for pitching or stack the big bats? You'll have to keep reading to find out.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 4/18/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.
DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel
Cincinnati Reds
The Reds get Jordan Lyles today, owner of a 11.25 ERA so far. Multiple Reds have had success already versus Lyles, including Zack Cozart, Joey Votto, and Jay Bruce.
Arizona Diamondbacks
The D-backs get Jake Peavy today, a pitcher who allowed ten extra base hits last start (club record). They've had success versus him too, including Jean Segura, Paul Goldschmidt, and David Peralta.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel
Pay that man! Thor is the top priced pitcher and for good reason. He's struck out 21 batters in two starts with a 0.69 ERA> He has a 1.46 ERA and 15/2 K/BB ratio versus the Phillies.
Rodon has been incredible since last August and is way too cheap on FanDuel. He has double digit K potential in a friendly home start. There's 50 point potential here.
DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel
Catcher (C) - Russell Martin
Martin has struggled to this point but has four career home runs off Clay Buchholz. Ownership should be low thanks to the slow start.
First Base (1B) - Joey Votto
This is all you need to know; Votto is 7-for-11 (.636) with two home runs off Lyles in his career.
Second Base (2B) - Dustin Pedroia
Pedroia always comes to play on Marathon day and was given an extra day of rest for the morning slate. He has a HR to his name of J.A. Happ too.
Shortstop (SS) - Zack Cozart
Cozart is 6-for-11 (.545) with a HR and eight RBI. Another key piece of my lineups today.
Third Base (3B) - Nolan Arenado
Arenado is on fire right now and people will be scared off by the price tag. He's coming off a 36 point outing yesterday and gets Dan Straily today, nothing to be intimidated by.
DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel
Parra was averaging over 10 PPG before yesterdays doughnut. He's an excellent power/speed play in a hitter friendly matchup.
Colabello is 5-for-12 lifetime versus Buchholz and figures to be in plenty of RBI situations today at a bargain bin rate.
Has FanDuel found out Conforto bats third versus righties now? Since the move he has been mashing (6 RBI) and he's only $2,700. A no-brainer, even with Eickhoff on the mound.
