Is Ryan Tannehill Injured or Healthy? Fantasy Football Injury Update

Ryan Tannehill - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Is Ryan Tannehill injured or healthy? Is Ryan Tannehill playing in 9? Read the latest Ryan Tannehill fantasy football injury updates and outlook.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill suffered an ankle sprain during Week 6's 24-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He has been sidelined since then and was unable to recover during the team's bye week. He didn't play in Week 8, and rookie Will Levis got the opportunity to lead the team.

Levis had one of the best debuts ever in NFL history, as he threw for 238 yards and four passing touchdowns. The offense looked better with Levis as the quarterback, and DeAndre Hopkins scored three touchdowns.

The Titans will face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football in Week 9, and Tannehill's injury is a talking point for that game. Will the veteran quarterback play this week? Let's take a look at his injury update.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Ryan Tannehill Injury Update for Fantasy Football

As per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Ryan Tannehill is still not cleared to play. He will miss his second straight game, and Levis will get another opportunity to showcase his abilities.

The Titans are 3-4 ahead of Week 9 and could still make the playoffs given how tricky their division, i.e., the AFC South, is. However, it will be interesting to see if Tannehill can remain as the starting quarterback when he returns if Levis continues to excel.

Some people have already demanded the Titans trade away Tannehill, but it's unlikely that it will happen. The 35-year-old quarterback will be a free agent after this season, and things could get interesting in Nashville if Levis leads them to a win over the Steelers this week.

Ryan Tannehill Fantasy Football Outlook

Tannehill has played six games this season, and he hasn't played well. He has thrown for 1,128 yards, two touchdowns, and six interceptions, with a passer rating of 71.9. In full PPR scoring leagues, the Titans quarterback has recorded just 57.1 points with an average of 9.5 points per game.

The RotoBaller staff has him currently ranked out of the top 35 among the quarterbacks, and with Will Levis' ascension, there is a possibility that Tannehill has played his last game for the Titans.

With how things currently shape up for the Titans, the Texas A&M product is certainly not a good pick for your rosters in fantasy football. Tannehill, who signed a four-year $118 million contract extension with the Titans in 2020, is likely to be on a new team next year.
