Dallas Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle is finally seemingly taking over the Cowboys' backfield. He's now outscored running back mate Ezekiel Elliott in three consecutive games in PPR fantasy points, and he had 13.10 PPR points last game to Elliott's 3.4. Dowdle rushed 11 times for 46 yards (4.8 yards per carry) and caught one pass for 16 yards and a touchdown.
Elliott's had his chances, but he's 29 years old with a ton of wear and tear. He's had 2,451 touches in his career, and NFL hits and injuries add up in a big way over time. Dowdle appears much fresher and has more burst on tape, so it makes sense that Dallas prefers him to be the feature back.
Unfortunately, he was added to the injury report on Thursday. Is Rico Dowdle now hurt or healthy? Let's dive in.

Rico Dowdle Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Cowboys injury report has Trevon Diggs limited in practice with an ankle issue. Rico Dowdle is listed with a wrist problem but was a full participant. Tyler Guyton was a full participant with shoulder problem.

It stands to reason that the Cowboys would make at least some sort of announcement if it was a serious issue or if Dowdle was in danger of missing time. Fantasy managers shouldn't be concerned about this one much. As always, be sure to check back for updates as we get closer to game time.
Rico Dowdle Fantasy Football Outlook
He showed nice consistency in Week 4's game against the New York Giants, eluding many tackles and weaving his way through traffic to pick up extra yards. Dallas is a very pass heavy team, and he had a receiving touchdown, so it's great to see him involved there too.

He's also clearly dominating the rush shares of the Cowboys' backfield, and there's not much reason for that to change, at least in the short term. The team signed Dalvin Cook recently, but he hasn't been a factor at all, and there are questions about whether he'll ever be part of the starting offense.
For now, Dowdle is in good shape and should be rostered in all leagues.
