Is DeAndre Hopkins Injured or Healthy? Fantasy Football Injury Update for Week 3

Is DeAndre Hopkins injured or healthy? Should I start DeAndre Hopkins for fantasy football or is he injured? Read the latest Week 3 fantasy football injury updates.

DeAndre Hopkins has had a legendary career thus far. He currently has the 34th most receiving yards by a player in NFL history and is on pace to jump to 24th by the end of the season if he can stay healthy.

That's a big if, however, as Hopkins tore his MCL in the 2021 season, a year where the Cardinals went 8-2 with him and 3-4 without him. In recent years, WRs have become more injury-prone since turning 30, which is not a good sign for the 31-year-old Hopkins, who missed out on a lot of practice before suiting up against the Chargers in Week 2.

Is Hopkins playing in Week 3 against the Browns? Is he a good option for fantasy football? Let's take a look.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Is DeAndre Hopkins Injured or Healthy?

Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins (ankle) is now finally a full participant in practice. He didn't practice all week prior to the game against the Chargers but now looks fully healthy.

Due to his rustiness, Hopkins understandably took a backseat to sophomores Treylon Burks and Chigoziem Okonkwo but still finished the game with 40 yards on four catches. He managed to come up with two big conversions on third down, before catching a 14-yard pass in overtime which essentially ended the game.

Mike Vrabel seems pleased with his new star wideout, highlighting his clutch play during the postgame press conference and saying that DHop "got the benefit of the doubt" despite not practicing due to their familiarity with each other dating back to their days in Houston.

DeAndre Hopkins Fantasy Football Outlook

In his prime, Hopkins was a monster in PPR formats due to his target potential, as he finished in the top five of WR rankings in the PPR format from 2017 to 2020 and was 2018's WR1. Through the first seven weeks of 2021, he was on pace to finish as the WR8 in the format and would have finished as 2022's WR7 if it weren't for his early season suspension.

The Browns managed to shut down Ja'Marr Chase in Week 1, limiting him to just 39 yards and 9.1 PPR points. But they felt the wrath of George Pickens in their next game, as he torched them for 127 yards, 22.7 PPR points, 18.7 standard fantasy points, and a touchdown. However, other wideouts were held in check, as Cleveland has allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to WRs thus far.

Hopkins is still valuable in PPR formats, and although he has recorded just 21.5 PPR points, that number could go up soon now that he's healthy. His production plummets in the standard format, as he has racked up just 10.5 fantasy points. If you're in a PPR league, consider Hopkins as a WR2/WR3.
