Is Christian McCaffrey Playing In Week 7? Fantasy Football Injury Update

2025 Fantasy Football Early-Round Best Ball Busts, Overvalued

Is Christian McCaffrey hurt or healthy? Is Christian McCaffrey playing in Week 7 fantasy football or is he injured? Read the latest Week 7 fantasy football injury updates.

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey was the eighth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. McCaffrey had an outstanding college career, totaling 632 rushing attempts for 3,922 yards and 21 touchdowns in three years at Stanford. He also had 99 receptions for 1,206 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in college.

More importantly, the former Stanford Cardinal has been a superstar since stepping foot in the NFL. He has had over 1,000 scrimmage yards every year of his career when McCaffrey played at least eight games. Furthermore, he has been the top fantasy running back when healthy over the past five years.

Last year, McCaffrey was the RB2, averaging 18.5 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The superstar had 244 rushing attempts for 1,139 yards and eight touchdowns. He also had 85 receptions on 108 targets for 741 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 2022.

What Has Christian McCaffrey Accomplished This Season?

Following his impressive and healthy year last season, fantasy players had high hopes for McCaffrey this year. The superstar has been outstanding, averaging 22.8 fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he is the RB1, scoring 26.1 more fantasy points than any other running back over the first five weeks.

More importantly, McCaffrey has been on a historic touchdown streak. The superstar enters tonight’s game, scoring a touchdown in 15 consecutive games, including the playoffs. His 15-game streak is the second-longest in NFL history, only behind Lenny Moore’s 17-game run in 1963-1964.

Is Christian McCaffrey Playing In Week 7

Unfortunately, McCaffrey suffered an oblique injury in the Week 6 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. He left the game but returned for one play before leaving for good. After not practicing on Thursday or Friday, the superstar was a limited participant during Saturday’s practice.

Thankfully, McCaffrey will play tonight against the Minnesota Vikings. Furthermore, there haven’t been any reports suggesting the former first-round pick will be on a snap count.

Hopefully, fantasy players left the superstar in their lineup. The Vikings have played well against running backs this season, holding them to only 14 fantasy points per game. They have surrendered only one rushing touchdown to running backs over the past four weeks. However, Minnesota hasn’t faced a superstar like McCaffrey this year.

Fantasy players should start the superstar running back tonight and every other week for the rest of the season.
