Is Bijan Robinson Hurt or Healthy? Fantasy Football Injury Update

Bijan Robinson - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Rookies, Draft Sleepers

Is Bijan Robinson hurt or healthy? Is Bijan Robinson playing in Week 5? Read the latest Bijan Robinson fantasy football injury updates and outlook.

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson was one of the first RBs to be taken off the board in fantasy drafts this year. The hype for him coming into the season was astronomical. He was seen as a surefire top-5 back who was a massively talented runner and receiver who would receive a huge workload.

That hasn't happened. After four games, Robinson is the RB20 in PPR. He has a single touchdown on the year and averages just 4.0 yards per carry. He's only averaging 14.2 PPR fantasy points per game and he hasn't even logged a 20+ point performance. Robinson is one of the most disappointing players of the year so far.

To make matters worse, Bijan recently appeared on the Falcons' injury report. Is Bijan Robinson hurt or healthy? Will he play in Week 5? Let's dive in.

Bijan Robinson Injury Update for Fantasy Football

Robinson is currently suffering from a hamstring injury. He was limited in practice on both Monday and Tuesday and with the Falcons playing on Thursday, this puts his status in doubt. The severity of his ailment isn't known, but teams have been rightfully cautious with hamstring issues this year.

Fantasy managers should have a backup plan available immediately. If you drafted Bijan and didn't pick up Tyler Allgeier as a handcuff, you may be in trouble. Robinson is a back who should always be handcuffed given how valuable the Falcons' lead-back role is for fantasy and the fact that Allgeier is talented on his own.

Even if Robinson does end up playing, if he's nursing a hamstring injury, it's easy to see a world in which Allgeier cuts into his workload more, which isn't great for Bijan managers. Either way, you'll want to stay updated on this situation. We may not get a clear answer to if Robinson plays until hours before the game starts.

Bijan Robinson Fantasy Football Outlook

Robinson hasn't had the best season, but he's still a must-start, as is any running back in the top 20. The Falcons offense hasn't hit its stride yet, so managers can hope it improves, but there's no guarantee. There are a lot of factors at play, but Robinson just isn't the player he was hyped to be.

Jonathan Taylor has QB Anthony Richardson playing poorly and is still doing well. Alvin Kamara is running behind a terrible offensive line and dealing with cracked ribs. Saquon Barkley has Jalen Hurts to take rushing volume away. Derrick Henry is 30. Kyren Williams has a decimated offensive line to work with.

Were any of these players doing poorly, we could make plenty of excuses for them, too. They're not in perfect situations, but they're dominating. Bijan is not. He's just not on the level people thought he was going into the season. He's a solid NFL running back, but not an elite fantasy producer.

At some point, reality sets in. There can continually be excuses made for players, but those don't lead to more fantasy points. Elite players dominate even in imperfect situations. Bijan is not elite, and he has a lot of catching up to do to produce RB2 numbers.
