Top Hitter Streamers and Starts - Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 17 (July 21- July 27)

Giancarlo Stanton - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Dan's top hitter streamers and starts as fantasy baseball waiver wire adds for the remainder of Week 17 of 2025 (July 21 - July 27). He analyzes streamers with favorable matchups, schedules.

We have turned the corner on the fantasy baseball season as the All-Star Break is behind us. But the dog days of summer lay ahead of us, and the need to work the wire for injury replacements and productive hitters only grows as the season winds down!

Our hitter streamers fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify hitters with favorable matchups who can be considered waiver wire streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire runs for leagues with weekly transactions. Players who appear in this article will always be rostered in 40 percent or fewer leagues on Yahoo!

In this piece, every week, I'll look to find hitters playing in the most games and who have the most favorable matchups to help you plug those gaps and fill those holes in your roster. You can also check out the rest of our fantasy baseball streamer content here at RotoBaller. Let's see which hitters we should consider grabbing off the wire as we roll into Week 17 of the fantasy baseball season!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

What Teams Offer the Most Streaming Value for Week 17?

While most MLB teams are playing six games this week, we have a bunch playing seven.

Seven-Game Weeks

BAL, CLE, DET, HOU, LAA, ATH, SDP, SEA, STL, and TOR.

Ballpark Upgrades:

  • STL (three games at COL)
  • TB (three games at home, 3 games at CIN)

Week 17 Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers

I'll recommend only players who are 40 percent rostered or lower, and all roster percentages are from Yahoo!

Chandler Simpson, OF - TBR (36% rostered)

HERE WE ARE AGAIN! All Simpson has done in two games since the break is go 4-6 at the plate, score three runs, and steal another base.

This is becoming a pattern, but I refuse to leave Simpson out of this article, given his current production and way-too-low rostership. Add him in all formats and enjoy the runs scored, batting average, and steals!

Colt Keith, 1B/2B/3B - DET (31% rostered)

Keith's rostership has ticked up a few percent since last week, but I am still in the camp that he should be rostered in all standard formats.

Keith's power from a middle infield position is substantial, and his spot atop the lineup for the terrific Tigers lineup is going to pay dividends. Nothing new to report here, other than the public is still slow to get on board with Keith, and I'm a bit puzzled as to why.

Giancarlo Stanton, OF - NYY (24% rostered)

I know he's not going to be in the lineup every day, but Stanton has done enough lately to warrant consideration in deeper formats.

Stanton is 2-3 since the break with two runs and two RBI. He's a cheap source of power and could go on a home run streak at any time. I'd rather take a shot on Stanton than Ben Rice at this point, with how well the veteran outfielder is swinging the bat of late.

Sean Murphy, C - ATL (24% rostered)

Murphy has drawn both starts coming out of the break and continues to be hot at the plate, collecting three hits and scoring four runs in Atlanta's first two games in this weekend's series.

I mentioned it last week, but Murphy's hot bat is forcing the Braves to keep him in the lineup more often as they can use their DH slot on Drake Baldwin and cut down the number of starts at catcher for the rookie.

Even if he's not being shopped for a trade, Murphy is a solid add while he continues to hit this well and get so many starts behind the plate.

Austin Hays, OF - CIN (20% rostered)

Hays made quite the statement in the Reds' first game coming out of the break. The outfielder homered twice and drove in three runs in an 8-4 win over the Mets.

Hays continues to hit in the cleanup spot and have success as a run producer. When he's been healthy this season and in the lineup, he's gotten it done, and he's easily one of my favorite widely available adds for this week as the Reds will get to feast on Washington pitching and then come home to face Tampa Bay.

Caleb Durbin, 2B/3B/SS - MIL (17% rostered)

Durbin clubbed his fifth home run on Friday, then proceeded to extend his hitting streak to five games yesterday and swipe a base. The rookie continues to provide value across multiple categories and also continues to be largely overlooked in fantasy baseball despite his production.

Durbin has proven to be a crucial player for the Brewers and has earned an opportunity to play every day. His multi-position eligibility is a nice bonus for fantasy managers. He's a great utility player and should be rostered in more leagues.

Tyler Freeman, SS/OF - COL (16% rostered)

This is your weekly reminder that Tyler Freeman gets on base every game and is a run-scoring machine who can boost your batting average and on-base percentage (if you play in an OBP league).

These types of players (like Chandler Simpson) aren't as sexy as the home run hitters, but they can easily be just as valuable in roto and H2H category leagues.

Jordan Beck, OF - COL (15% rostered)

We love the Rockies on the waiver wire! Beck provides some of the same steal potential as Freeman, but with more power upside.

He's not as reliable for batting average, but Beck has flashed true 5-cat potential for multiple stretches this season.

Mickey Moniak, OF - COL (11% rostered)

Help! I can't quit Mickey Moniak! The left-handed slugger is 5-9 in his first two games back from the break and was scorching hot heading into the break, too.

The Rockies have three games at home to start this week and then head to Baltimore to face a pretty questionable Orioles rotation in a ballpark that favors left-handed power hitters.

Moniak's talent has never been in question. The former top pick in the draft many years ago has just never hit consistently for average and power over the course of a full season. We just need to use him while he's hot, and right now it seems like he's locked in at the plate.

Week 17 Deeper League Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers to Consider

Some widely available hitters (under 10 percent rostered) could be worth a look this week.

Good luck this week, and choose those streaming options wisely! Thanks for making RotoBaller your one-stop shop for all things fantasy baseball!
