Go Bowling at The Glen: DFS NASCAR Lineup Sleepers And Drivers To Avoid

The last stop at The Tricky Triangle was wild, and Denny Hamlin showed out for his fifth win of the season. Hamlin made a goal at the beginning of the year and followed through with an intense battle amongst teammates. Next season at Pocono will be a doubleheader for the ages with the way the cars are running after this year's package change.

William Byron was last week's diamond in the rough. For only $7100 on DraftKings, Byron landed a solid 67 FPTS, and finished Pocono in fourth place. Daniel Hemric also did well by showing us that he has what it takes to be a contender at Pocono Raceway.

NASCAR is moving forward to the last road course race of the year, and drivers are beginning to tighten up a bit more with the playoffs on the horizon. One driver that's searching for change is Jimmie Johnson. Johnson has a new crew chief (Cliff Daniels), and this move seems to be a good fit, and for better or worse will surely alter the season.

What We Learned At Pocono

  • Denny Hamlin can deliver (Wins fifth race of the season)
  • Daniel Hemric is a great value play at Pocono
  • William Byron is improving
  • Chase Elliott is going through a rough patch

DFS Lineup Sleepers - Go Bowling at The Glen

Daniel Suarez

Suarez had a poor performance last Sunday at Pocono. Over the past few years, Suarez has been a factor but seems to have lost his spark (and apparently his cool with Bubba Wallace). This week is another opportunity to give Suarez a shot in DFS. Over the past two years, Suarez has averaged 51.75 FPTS at this track.

Reed Sorenson

Sorenson is someone who I rarely write about, (and this will be the last time for a while) but this week Sorenson is definitely one to watch. Even though Sorenson hasn't raced at this track since 2014, he seems to know his way around it fairly well. The best finish Sorenson has ever had at Watkins Glen is 12th.

Ryan Blaney

Blaney hasn't had the best luck in 2019, but a road course race might be the best thing for him. Blaney finished last week in 10th at Pocono and fourth at New Hampshire. It seems as if Blaney is gaining some momentum and could knock down a lot of pins for you come Sunday.

DFS Lineup Avoids - Go Bowling at The Glen

Austin Dillon

Dillon is just downright rough at this track. The best finish Dillon had was in 2014 when he crossed the checkered line in 16th place. Since then Dillon hasn't been able to crack the Top 20, and has finished mostly with negative placement. Don't trust that to change this weekend.

Jimmie Johnson

Johnson has some new things brewing with his team, but it's still not enough to play him at The Glen. Johnson has averaged only one point on DraftKings since 2014 (mindblowing). I will say that things should look up for Johnson throughout the rest of the season, but if you play him this week, it's almost like throwing your money away.

Ryan Newman

The hot dog man has pulled off some impressive finishes so far this season. Since the last time NASCAR was at Daytona, Newman has finished every race inside the Top 10 until last week at Pocono where he checked out in 14th place. It's too early to say if he is getting ready to enter a rough patch, but he's averaged about 21 FPTS since 2017 when running Watkins Glen.
