It's the final week of the regular season and playoff seeding is on the line as two matches are scheduled for Monday, March 3, inside the Sofi Center. This afternoon, the No. 1 seed is on the line in the first match between Los Angeles Golf Club and The Bay Golf Club. New York and Boston will be featured in the nightcap tonight on ESPN.

Playoff Implications
The winner of The Bay vs. LA will be the No. 1 seed in the inaugural TGL Playoffs, which take place in two weeks. Either way, both teams have clinched their spot in the postseason, and since there is no real home-field advantage in TGL, that is all that really matters.
There is a lot more at stake in the second matchup between New York and Boston. If NYGC wins, they are in. However, if they lose, it opens up the door to a potential path for a Boston team that is winless in the season to waltz into the playoffs. They are a team that features the highest combined player world rankings. Nobody wants to have to face Rory McIlroy and Hideki Matsuyama in the playoffs. Their scenarios are as follows:
- Win & JUP loss vs. ATL & more total holes won than NY
- Win & JUP Overtime Loss vs. ATL & more total holes won than both NY and JUP
Match 13: 3 PM ET - ESPN 2
The Rundown
First things first, we have a few of the players competing in this afternoon's match that are also playing in the prestigious Seminole Member-Pro this morning. I don't think it should affect anything, but some of the normal gameday routines could be slightly shortened for Collin Morikawa, Min Woo Lee, and Shane Lowry.

The Bay is trotting out the exact same team as last week, which means no Ludvig Aberg. His absence will certainly be missed, but they still have my MVP of the league thus far in Wyndham Clark alongside Lowry and Lee (aka Mr. Chipinksi). As I said last week, this team has clearly been the class of TGL. They continue to lead the league in Driving Accuracy, Driving Distance, GIR, scrambling, and putting.
This Los Angeles Golf Club is no joke either. They come into this match at 3-0-1, and this is the best version of their lineup in terms of pure strokes gained and OWGR rankings. Tommy Fleetwood leads the TGL in driving accuracy and has yet to miss a fairway this season. He is seven for seven in that department. Fleetwood will lead things off for LA in the lineup, followed by Morikawa. Neither of them has lost a point on their singles holes all season.
The Course Setup
This match features the best set of par 5s that TGL has. Lee will get to showcase his outrageous ball speed numbers on The Spear, the fourth hole of today's match. Clark and Theegala will both close out the alternate shot portion of the match on Quick Draw, which Clark eagled to win the match against Boston earlier this season. They'll also go head-to-head in Singles on Pick Yer Plunder to finish the match, a dangerous hole that has resulted in six balls ending up in the penalty hazard this season, and only 37% of tee shots find the fairway.

Match 14: 7 PM ET - ESPN 2
The Rundown
Besides the massive playoff implications that we covered earlier, the big news in this match is the return of Xander Schauffele from injury. The New York Golf Club started to find a groove with him sidelined for several weeks, but anytime you can add a top-3 player in the world to your roster, you do it!
Boston Common was one of the preseason co-favorites to win the TGL. This group, while individually uber-talented, hasn't managed to gel this season thus far. They have ineffectively used their Hammer strategy at times, which has been mind-boggling to watch from the stands.
Boston is clearly the more talented team and has a lot working in their favor in this match. That said, they have to use the hammer effectively and be willing to give up a hole if they are probable to lose it, rather than continuing to accept hammers that they have little chance to win. It would genuinely be a bit of an embarrassment for Boston to go completely winless this season, especially for McIlroy. I expect we'll see their best team performance tonight.
The Course Setup
I like Boston starting their lineup with McIlroy, who will go against Cameron Young. Young has struggled to hit the fairways, which could present big problems on holes like The Claw and The Spear.
Boston will continue to utilize the services of Keegan Bradley. He's played in every match so far and is one of three players in TGL with at least four holes won in the singles format, including Cliffhanger which will be his final hole of the night in singles. In a previous match, Bradley hit hot tee shot on this hole to two feet and won the hole. He'll go against Fowler in head-to-head this week.
