Week 13 Fantasy Football News and Injuries

Week 13 Half-PPR Rankings Analysis

A new feature has been added to our weekly fantasy football rankings article. Below, you will find our fantasy football outlooks for key options in Week 13, which gives readers a matchup preview of that player and advice on whether you should start or avoid for the upcoming week. We provide outlooks for all 32 NFL teams, which can be found on our player profile pages and our fantasy football news desk.

Zack Moss, RB, Indianapolis Colts
Week 13 Overall Half-PPR Rankings: 14
Week 13 Running Back Half-PPR Rankings: 9

Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss stands to benefit from Jonathan Taylor's thumb injury, starting in Week 13 against the Tennessee Titans. Taylor will have thumb surgery on Wednesday and is expected to miss at least two to three weeks.

Moss filled in nicely during the early portion of the season while Taylor was on the Physically Unable to Perform list while recovering from ankle surgery. If Moss is available, fantasy managers should make picking him up off of waivers this week a priority in all formats.

Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Detroit Lions
Week 13 Overall Half-PPR Rankings: 11
Week 13 Running Back Half-PPR Rankings: 7

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs was on a hot streak from Week 7 to Week 11, finishing no lower than the weekly RB6 (half-PPR) over a four-game stretch. However, the rookie speedster had a down week against the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving, totaling just 9.3 fantasy points. Based on his resume before that, he remains a must-start against the New Orleans Saints in Week 13.

It's worth noting David Montgomery (foot) is dealing with a foot injury. There have been no reports that Montgomery is in danger of missing Week 13. If he does, Gibbs has overall RB1 upside. If Montgomery is active, both players have at least RB2 outlooks and RB1 ceilings.

Brandin Cooks, WR, Dallas Cowboys
Week 13 Overall Half-PPR Rankings: 66
Week 13 Wide Receiver Half-PPR Rankings: 34

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks will look for consistency and to even things out in a Week 13 game against the Seattle Seahawks. Cooks has been alternating good and bad games, finishing as the fantasy WR21, 97, 3, 49, and 18 over the past five weeks.

Based on that pattern, he's due for a bad week, but based on his and the Cowboys offense's recent play, there's a lot of upside in Cooks. His floor is lower than most others on the WR2/3 radar, but the ceiling is nice, and the Cowboys shouldn't have a hard time moving the ball on Thursday Night.

Rashee Rice, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
Week 13 Overall Half-PPR Rankings: 57
Week 13 Wide Receiver Half-PPR Rankings: 26

Kansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice is coming off the best game of his first year in the NFL -- an eight-catch, 107-yard, one-touchdown performance -- and has become "Patrick Friendly," according to head coach Andy Reid, referring to the chemistry he's built with quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Week 12 was the first time all year that a Chiefs receiver had more than five receptions or 100 yards in a game. Rice's five TDs in 2023 are tied with tight end Travis Kelce for the team-high. When targeting Rice this year, Mahomes has completed 79.2% of his throws, averaged 9.6 yards per attempt, and has thrown five TDs and no picks, boasting a 138 passer rating when targeting Rice. The rookie is the clear top target for Mahomes behind Kelce.

Jake Ferguson, TE, Dallas Cowboys
Week 13 Overall Half-PPR Rankings: 85
Week 13 Tight End PPR Rankings: 9

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson will look to get back into the TE1 ranks in a Week 13 game against the Seattle Seahawks. Ferguson was a top-10 fantasy tight end in Weeks 8, 9, and 10 but dipped to a TE21 and TE24 finish in the past two weeks.

The Seahawks are just about average against opposing tight ends, so this could be a chance for Ferguson to see a few more targets and get a few more yards going. He's gone two games without a touchdown after scoring three in a row, so a return to the end zone would be a welcome sight.

Fantasy Football Rankings for Week 13

Rankings are updated until kick-off. Be sure to bookmark our weekly PPR rankings, Half-PPR rankings, Standard rankings

Note that quarterbacks, defenses, and kickers are all grouped separately towards the bottom. Each of those positions is ranked on their own. This helps to compare running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends for FLEX spots (without QB, DEF, and K mixed in).
