FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:

Tyler Glasnow - TBR @ NYY ($10,700)

Chris Bassitt, who is facing the Angels, has already dominated them twice this season and is not even $9500. He will be a strong, but also a very popular choice. But he won't be the top option; Glasnow is the clear top option Tuesday night. And unlike some of the last few times, the top option is under $11K too!

But he's playing the Yankees!

Uh-huh. What's your point, pin-stripe head? Because that's exactly one of the reasons I plan on playing him. I'll cut the Yankees a bit of a break as they've been hurt by injuries lately. But do you realize how impotent their offense has been lately? In the last seven days, the entire team has all of four HRs! Gary Sanchez and Miguel Andujar are the only ones who have hit over .300 during that time. Oh wait, Estevan Florial went one-for-three. I doubt any Yankee fans are rushing to 34th street to reserve their parade spot.

Because it gets worse. In the last week, they've struck out 65 times, or just a little under ten a game. And now they face Glasnow who has struck out nearly 100 batters already this year? Yikes. And I remind you that Glasnow has a 2.57 ERA and 0.93 WHIP as well. And he's slated to face Domingo German who is...well, Domingo German. Let's just say the Rays are favored.

Don't worry about the matchup, start Glasnow.

GPP Play

Luis Garcia, HOU vs BOS ($8,100)

But the Yankees are not the only team in the AL East whose bats have gone a little cold. The rival Red Sox have also struggled over the last week or so. They have played one less game, but they too only have four homers. Hunter Renfroe is the only Boston player hitting over .300 the last seven days. They are not quite as prone to striking out as the Yankees have been lately, but they are averaging over eight whiffs a game. So don't worry about the match-up.

And you may not be as familiar with Luis Garcia's body of work, but my colleague Eric Samulski has already dug into them for you:

In case you don't feel like watching Eric's analysis, just be aware that Garcia very quietly has a 2.93 ERA. 1.02 WHIP and a dazzling 10.57 K/9! He has 28 or more FD fantasy points each of his last six outings. He's not going to remain $8100 at this rate. Get him this cheap while you can and watch the pouring in of points.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Matt Olson - 1B, OAK vs SEA ($3,400)

I recommended him in this space last week and he responded with over a dozen points. Against Marco Gonzalez and his 5.40 ERA, I think Olson can make me look good two weeks in a row. The best part is he actually $200 cheaper this week. I'll happily take the savings on a player hitting .258/.348/.545 with 13 home runs, 33 RBI, and 31 runs scored so far.

Ryan McMahon - 2B/3B, COL vs LAA ($3,000)

No surprise, McMahon is a much better player in Colorado than on the road. McMahon's number of road and home ABs are nearly identical. However, he's hitting .297 at home with eight HRs. We could discuss what he has done on the road, but there's no need to as he is home tonight against right-hander Dane Dunning and his 4.75 ERA.

Don't overthink this. Start McMahon.

Matt Chapman - 3B, OAK vs SEA ($2,600)

Chapman is hitting a Mendoza-like .203. That's the bad news. The good news is he should start against the aforementioned Gonzalez. I'd be surprised if he didn't, given that in 26 career ABs against Gonzalez, he has hit .426 with a 1.269 OPS. I know Chapman has been a bit of disappointment this year, but I will gladly give him another chance tonight. especially at $2600.

Jorge Polanco - SS/2B,  MIN @ BAL ($2,600)

Lots of nice SS options Tuesday night, but I'm going to skimp at SS as well. Although anyone at any position facing off against the facsimile of a pitcher that is Bruce Zimmerman is someone in whom I have an interest. And Polanco is coming in hot having gone long yesterday against these same Orioles. He has been a far cry from the .295 22-HR season he had in 2019, but he's also been a bit on the unlucky side with a career low BABIP of just .267. I would expect that number to get closer to his career .310 level and with that should come increased production. He should produce tonight.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Austin Meadows - OF, TBR @ NYY ($4,100)

Meadows has been white-hot lately with three homers in four days. He is absolutely crushing the ball right now.

I know the calendar now says June. But he's having a pretty good season with 12 dingers already and I'm willing to bet on him making it a bakers dozen. At the very least, he should be able to give Glasnow some run support!

Tyler Naquin - OF, CIN @ PHI ($2700) and Jesse Winker - OF, CIN @ PHI ($3900)

I like both of these Reds tonight and much will depend on your choice of pitcher as to whom you can afford. Naquin is another cheap option, but he shouldn't be this cheap. Naquin has double-digit homers and is averaging double-digit fantasy points per game as well.

Winker is obviously an even better option, but he's far more expensive. Because yes, I'll admit it, I'm just not buying Aaron Nola. I give him a tip of the cap, as Nola has shown remarkable improvement. Too remarkable. His HR/FB rate is down 50%. That's just not sustainable. Enter lefthander Jesse Winker who is batting .348 and has 13 bombs.

My thing about Winker is I always want to put an "L" in his last name, like the actor who played Fonzie on Happy Days. But against Nola tonight, Winker should definitely get a grade of an "Aaaaaaay".

J.D. Martinez - OF, BOS @ HOU ($4200)

Just like I'm not buying Nola right now, perhaps you are not buying my Garcia recommendation above. And if you do think Garcia is going to get smacked around tonight, might as well go with Boston's best hitter. I will say this, as much as I like Garcia, I do fear what Martinez could do. Martinez has a dozen round-trippers to accompany his .323 average. I don't believe in revenge narratives, but Martinez is facing a former team. Either way, Martinez should be on base at least a few times tonight.

And if you agree with me about Garcia and don't want any Red Sox lineup, might as well go with my often recommended option of Juan Soto. Soto is a nice discounted option at only $3800. He is facing Max Fried, who has been less than stellar and sports a 4.63 ERA.

Good luck with your entries!
