FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (5/24/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

We have a bit of a weird schedule for games today, so let me break things down. There is a 12:35 pm est slate which has three games, then a 7:10 pm est slate which also has three games. FanDuel decided to leave off the two games in the middle of the day. I'll try and hit on options on each slate so there is a good mix to look at.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/24/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Rick Porcello - P, BOS @ TB (FD - $9,300)

Porcello is one of the better pitchers on this slate and comes in with a few things going in his favor, so let's break it down. It should be noted that he has given up 13 earned runs over his last three starts, which is his worst stretch of the season, but now up against a Tampa Bay Rays team, who don't pose too much of a threat. The Rays come in with a 22% strikeout rate vs right-handed pitchers, which isn't the worst, but also not the best. Porcello himself comes in with a 30% strikeout rate vs lefties and a 20% strikeout rate vs righties. It will also help that Porcello simply isn't walking anyone this year, with only 11 walks in 10 starts this season.

Felix Hernandez - P, SEA @ OAK (FD - $6,500)

We all know Hernandez isn't the same pitcher he once was, but with his lower price, he can offer some nice flexibility in your lineups. King Felix is up against the Athletics, who he has already faced two times this season, and put up some very good numbers in those games. He has put up 38 and 40 FanDuel points, with seven strikeouts in each, which is tied for his season high. He has a great pitcher's park behind him, and with Oakland having a 23% strikeout rate vs right-handed pitchers, he is in a good spot to repeat those performances.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Omar Narváez - C, CWS vs BAL (FD - $2,000

With the news that Welington Castillo is going to be suspended for 80 games, it opens up some playing time for Narvaez. He is the minimum salary on FanDuel, so he offers plenty of savings, and really doesn't need to do a lot to pay off his salary. Of the course of his career, he has a .305 wOBA vs right-handed pitching, so not a complete scrub at the plate.

Josh Bell - 1B, PIT @ CIN (FD - $3,300)

Bell is in a bit of a slump recently, only two for his last 17 at-bats, but in a good spot to get things going in the right direction. He is up against Luis Castillo, who is giving up a .384 wOBA to lefties this season, along with 2.55 HR/9 to them as well. I see him more as a GPP play since the consistency isn't there, but the home run upside is due to the pitcher and the park.

Asdrúbal Cabrera - 2B, NYM @ MIL (FD - $3,900)

Cabrera has a .392 wOBA and a .246 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers, which should put him in a nice spot vs Davies, who will be making his first start off the DL. This is a real big positive park shift in the favor of Cabrera, and the lefty power the Mets have should play a big part in this stadium. He has five of his seven home runs off of righties this season and makes a nice addition to a Mets stack today.

Mike Moustakas - 3B, KAN @ TEX (FD - $3,800)

Just play Moustakas tonight. It can be that simple if you want it to be since he is in such a great spot. He comes in with a .402 wOBA and a .286 ISO vs right-handed pitchers, which are some massive numbers, and he is simply too cheap tonight. He is yet another player who gets a nice positive park shift and with the friendly hitting weather Texas provides, he should be on home run watch tonight.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Curtis Granderson - OF, TOR vs LAA (FD - $2.900)

Granderson usually bats at the top of the lineup, which gives him some inherent value, and for his price, he makes a solid cash game option. He comes in with a .370 wOBA and a .173 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers. The early slate is only three games, so you will need to find value anywhere you can. He does have a 29% strikeout rate vs right-handed pitchers, so not a lock, but still brings decent upside.

Mookie Betts - OF, BOS @ TB (FD - $5,400)

It may seem a bit obvious to play Betts if you can afford him, and with only three games on the night slate, it may be a "don't get cute spot". If you have the salary available, you should be playing Betts on most nights. He comes in with 15 career at-bats vs Blake Snell, with four hits, two of which are doubles, and one being a home run. Take the BvP on a short slate.
