FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (5/19/19): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Troy Klauder highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 5/19/19, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

It's Sunday, so we've got the 15 game all day slate for us starting at 1:05pm eastern. The main slate also starts at the same time.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/19/2019. These picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

We also provide DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me on Twitter @TroyKlauder.

FanDuel DFS Pitcher

Shane Bieber: CLE vs BAL ($9,500)

Bieber got rocked in his last time out against the White Sox, but he should be able to get back on track after getting an extra day of rest. Bieber has an outstanding 26.5% K-rate with just a 6.4% walk-rate and still has a solid 3.81 ERA on the year. He faces an easy Orioles lineup that has just a .304 wOBA versus right-handed pitching. Baltimore is also much less potent on the road, away from their hitter-friendly park. If you're looking for a top echelon starter without paying a premium, Bieber is your guy.

Robbie Ray: ARI vs SFG ($9,600)

It's going to be tough for me to stay away from Ray in GPP contests, as he's got such extreme upside with a 29.3% K-rate. Of course, he's also facing one of the weakest lineups in baseball in the Giants, who have a pathetic .264 wOBA versus lefties this season. Ray sports a fantastic 3.14 ERA entering Sunday, although he's not often able to pitch six or more innings in a start. For that reason, I'd avoid Ray in cash games, but fire him up in tournaments in hopes of another double-digit strikeout performance.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Paul Goldschmidt, STL at TEX ($3,900)

Goldschmidt and the Cardinals lineup have a tremendous opportunity today against Drew Smyly, who has a horrendous 6.85 ERA this year. Smyly also has a 2.28 HR/9, so there's a good chance Goldy takes him deep. Goldschmidt will be in a great spot for both runs and RBI batting second, and also gets to take advantage of an extremely hitter-friendly ballpark. Consider stacking the Cardinals along with Goldschmidt.

Robinson Cano, NYM at MIA ($2,900)

Cano is a buy low at this price, as he's been struggling hard this year. However, he's still got plenty of value as the Mets three-hitter when they go up against guys like Sandy Alcantara. Alcantara has a 5.25 FIP with a walk rate (11.6%) nearly as high as his strikeout rate (14.1%). This is a perfect spot for Cano to turn things around.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. TOR at CWS ($3,000)

Guerrero's price has began to rise a bit with his hot streak, but he's still very cheap. Vladdy has a 1.137 OPS with three homers over the last week and is looking to feast on White Sox starter Reynaldo Lopez, owner of a 5.58 ERA with a 1.8 HR/9. It sure looks like Guerrero is already on his way to becoming a stud fantasy hitter.

Javier Baez, CHC at WAS ($4,100)

Baez has proved all of his doubters wrong this year with another torrid campaign at the plate, posting a .324/.364/.604 line with 11 homers. Opposing starter Jeremy Hellickson has a 6.00 ERA and should get torched once again. Invest in Baez as a top hitting option.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Andrew McCutchen, PHI vs COL ($3,600)

McCutchen has been raking against left-handed pitching this year with a 121 WRC+. He is a great play in cash games as the Phillies leadoff hitter, since he will see plenty of plate appearances and will put himself in a position to score to runs. Cutch is in a hitter-friendly venue against southpaw Kyle Freeland, who has 5.68 ERA.

Joc Pederson, LAD at CIN ($3,500)

Pederson is another leadoff outfielder to target. Pederson has an elite 175 wRC+ against righties this season and already has 14 home runs. Opposing starter Tanner Roark likely has regression on the way, as he's significantly outperformed his 5.05 Deserved Run Average and 4.73 SIERA.
