FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Ivan Nova: CWS @ DET ($6,900)

The Tigers are the third worst team in baseball against right-handed pitchers hitting .201 against them this season. Nova has put up two quality starts against some solid hitting teams in the Yankees and Indians. His one bad start was against the Mariners, who have been tearing almost every pitcher apart this year. Nova only allowed two runs over 13 innings in the games against NYY and CLE, so I would anticipate a performance like those in his start today against the Tigers.

Chris Paddack: SDP vs CIN ($8,500)

There are only two teams worse than the Tigers when it comes to hitting against right-handed pitching and Cincinnati is one of them with a .196 AVG. Paddack has been lights out over his first three starts with a 1.29 ERA. The only thing that worries me about him is his lack of innings over the three starts, failing to go past five innings yet this year. It is hard to say whether or not he will pitch deep enough into the game to warrant his high salary, which is why I will rank Nova in front of him in this situation.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Ji-Man Choi: 1B, TB vs BAL  ($3,200)

Choi has a .331 wOBA vs RHP so far this season which isn't the greatest number for this stat. However, he will be hitting near the middle of a lineup that has been hot as of late and is facing Andrew Cashner. I always make it my goal to play a couple of players against Cashner because he is usually a fantasy gold mine for opposing hitters. Left-handed hitters have been pounding the ball against him so far this season with a 44% HardHit%.

Ozzie Albies: 2B, ATL vs ARI ($3,900)

Left-Handed hitters have a slash line of .350/.435/.600 with a .438 wOBA so far this season against Diamondbacks pitcher Luke Weaver. Ozzie Albies will look to exploit this matchup as he enters the game with a .384 wOBA vs RHP. Albies should be at the top of the lineup today for the Braves which will maximize his opportunities against Weaver.

Anthony Rendon: 3B, WSH @ SFG ($4,800)

Drew Pomeranz has allowed five earned runs and two home runs in just ten innings this season. He will hate to see Rendon step into the box today with his two home runs in seven at-bats vs LHP. While the sample size is too small this season to get a true read on his other numbers, it is safe to say that Rendon enjoys hitting against left-handed pitching. He has a career .381 wOBA vs LHP with 26 home runs.

Tim Anderson: SS, CWS @ DET ($3,900)

Anderson has been raking so far this season with a .471/.471/.529 slash line and a .434 wOBA vs LHP. He faces a pitcher in Daniel Norris who has struggled this season against right-handed hitters allowing three earned runs with 2 home runs in just six innings of work.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Austin Meadows: TB vs. BAL ($4,500)

I have already stated Cashner's numbers in the above analysis of Meadows' teammate Choi. We have a player here in Meadows who is a much better hitter against RHP and should be batting leadoff which will maximize his opportunities at the plate. He has come out of the gate on fire this season with a .461 wOBA vs RHP with five home runs. I like him to add to those totals today against Cashner.

Domingo Santana: SEA @ LAA ($3,800)

There seems to be a bit of uncertainty on who will be starting for the Angels tonight in Anaheim. The most likely scenario is that it will be a sort of bullpen day with both Chris Stratton and Felix Pena rumoured to be coming out to the mound to start it off. Neither of these pitchers has gone more than four innings in either of their outings so there should be a mix of pitchers that Santana will see tonight. Regardless of the opposing pitcher, Santana has been raking this year with a slash line of .341/.413/.537. He is a strong value play in this matchup while being apart of the hottest lineup in baseball.

Andrew McCutchen: PHI @ COL ($4,700)

McCutchen has been hitting well with a .509 wOBA vs LHP so far this season albeit in a limited sample size. Most impressive this year is his 44.4% Hard Hit Rate against LHP. He is seeing the ball well against this handedness which is a good thing when you head into Coors Field. The opposing pitcher, Kyle Freeland struggled in his only start at home this year, allowing seven runs in five innings.
