Euro Tour DraftKings DFS Picks: Scottish Open

Hello and welcome to RotoBaller's DraftKings DFS Euro Tour picks! At RotoBaller, we are committed to bringing our readers the most complete fantasy golf advice available, that means we offer DFS golf coverage on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

Russell Knox stole a victory at the Irish Open last week, making two monster putts on the 72nd hole and the first playoff hole. We head to Knox's home country of Scotland this week for the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open. The Americans have descended onto Scotland this week, with eyes on prepping for the upcoming Open Championship. Gullane Golf Club will host this week for the first time since 2015, when Rickie Fowler walked away with the title. Gullane is a typical links course, as we continue the links theme in preparation for Carnoustie. Rafa Cabrera-Bello took home the Scottish Open title last year at Dundonald Links. Hold on to your kilts and lets dive in!

Editor's Note: Our friends at Fantasy National have built some incredible DFS Golf lineup tools including a Lineup Optimizer, Stat Engine, Ownership Projections and Course Breakdowns. They are by far the best daily fantasy Golf tools in the industry. Seriously. You can read all about them here and see screenshots.

Elite Tier

Justin Rose - DraftKings - $11,700: You folks probably don't need me to tell you to get Justin Rose in your lineups this week, but humor me. Rose is having a dream season and is perhaps the most consistent golfer in the world right now. He hasn't missed a cut since William Wallace was fighting England. Rose has both a Euro Tour and PGA Tour win to his credit this season and has been in the mix to win more tournaments, including the U.S. Open. He ranks in the top-25 of all Strokes Gained statistics on the PGA Tour. The Englishman carries the week's highest DraftKings price tag, but if you are paying up, he's your man.

Russell Knox - DraftKings - $9,800: For our second Elite Tier selection, we are going with the hometown boy that is on an absolute heater! Russell Knox won last week's Irish Open in dramatic fashion, defeating Ryan Fox in a playoff. Two weeks ago, he scored a second-place finish at the HNA Open de France on the strength of a final-round 66. Both of these accomplishments come on the heels of a T12 at the U.S. Open. Knox will be comfortable playing on his home soil. He managed a T10 the last time the Scottish Open was held at Gullane GC in 2015. The Scot offers a lot of bang for your buck this week at a sub-10k price.

Mid Tier

Matt Kuchar - DraftKings - $9,400: I'm going with my main man Matty Kuchar this week...partially, because I didn't want to include Andy Sullivan in this piece for the seventh straight time or whatever it is (I still recommend Sullivan this week!), but mostly because I love Kuchar's play on links courses. The 40-year-old American seems to be right at home in Scotland, logging a T4 in last year's Scottish Open and a runner-up finish at Gullane in 2015. We saw him lose a heartbreaker to Jordan Spieth at Royal Birkdale last year. Kuchar hasn't been in the greatest form recently, but I expect him to find his game across the Atlantic.

Louis Oosthuizen - DraftKings - $9,100 Let's stay in this price range with Louis Oosthuizen. The South African has had a bit of a rocky 2018 season, badly missing the cut at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship. Oosthuizen seems to have steadied himself over the couple of months, notching a T5 in Fort Worth, a T13 at The Memorial, and a T16 at the U.S. Open in his last three starts. The 2010 Open champion and 2015 Open runner-up knows how to play links courses and we have a chance to catch him on the upswing this week. Shrek is the type of player that can play elite-level golf in stretches and it feels like the trajectory of his season is pointing toward a hot streak.

Value Tier

Alexander Bjork - DraftKings - $7,900: The Swede is not a household name yet, but he is quickly making his mark on the European Tour. Bjork is priced extremely soft this week and might be the best bargain on the board. He won the Volvo China Open earlier this year and most recently scored a top-10 at the Open de France and a T14 on a links course at the Irish Open last week. He reminds me a lot of his countryman Alex Noren, a player that no one really knew a few years ago, but then he went on a huge winning binge all across Europe. Bjork is a sleeper that you should get in lineups this week.

Nicholas Colsaerts- DraftKings - $7,000: Our final play this week is Belgium's notoriously streaky Nicholas Colsaerts. The veteran is a tremendous ballstriker and has tons of links experience. His play comes and goes, but we have seen some signs of life recently. Colsaerts scored a T3 at the Shot Clock Masters last month and played solid in the Irish Open, logging a top-20. He is a GPP-only play and a guy that I would like to sprinkle in if entering multiple lineups. He helps us fit Justin Rose in if going with the "Stars & Scrubs" approach. If Colsaerts can have a decent week with the putter, his ballstriking will keep him in the mix to play the weekend.

Be sure to look out for another European Tour article coming next week and don't miss my weekly PGA article Horse For The Course right here at RotoBaller!
