DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (8/13/22): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Corbin Burnes - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on August 13, 2022. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

We have another night-centric Saturday slate for our DFS entertainment. 12 of the 16 games on the docket are in prime time, including the second game of the Braves-Marlins twin bill. Watch the lineups closely in that one.

We have the pitcher costing five figures on DraftKings and a game in Coors Field. It's going to take some creative building to get to a lineup we like. That's what I'm here for.

As always, this article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Saturday's main slate locks at 7:05 pm EST on 8/13/2022. The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack! You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Now that we got all of that out of the way, it's onto the picks!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Corbin Burnes at STL ($10,300 DK, $11,000 FD)

Is Jacob deGrom on a pitch count better than any other pitcher on the slate? Normally, the answer is still a resounding yes, but I don't think it is tonight. Burnes has dominated the Cardinals in his career, and in particular this season. He has allowed just four hits in 14 innings against the Redbirds this year with no runs and a staggering 21 strikeouts.

It's not a fluke. Burnes has a 2.91 ERA in 55.2 innings against the Cardinals in his career. Yeah, but he's on the road, right? Even better. Burnes is 3-1 with a 1.40 ERA in 25.2 innings at Busch Stadium. My conclusion is that Corbin Burnes is part bull. When he sees Cardinal red, he just dominates.

Lucas Giolito vs. DET ($7,500 DK, $8,500 FD)

Giolito's numbers are ugly. There's no way to pretty them up. However, Detroit's are worse. I promise. The Tigers are hitting a pathetic .178 this month with three homers in 11 games. Oh, and they're striking out at an alarming 31.7% rate this month. We just saw Michael Kopech dominate Detroit last night and he's had a few rough games of his own.

Don't look now, but Giolito has actually turned in some decent outings of late. He has allowed six runs in 15 innings over his last three starts and one of those was in Coors Field. The 16 strikeouts are a step in the right direction as well. Giolito won't dominate like Kopech did last night, but he's not priced like he's expected to either. We should see 15-18 DK points out of Giolito, which is a good return for the price.

Also consider: Yu Darvish, Logan Webb, Spencer Strider, Matt Manning

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Pete Alonso - 1B, NYM vs. Aaron Nola ($5,900 DK, $4,200 FD)

I don't make it a point to go after pitchers like Nola, at least not without a good reason. Alonso has smacked four career homers against Nola and is hitting .351 against him in 37 at-bats. On top of that, Alonso has destroyed Phillies pitching this year. He has 18 RBI against the Phils in just 12 games with five homers. Pete is on a nice little heater anyway. He should stay hot against Nola and whoever follows him.

Manny Machado - 3B, SD at Anibal Sanchez ($5,400 DK, $3,900 FD)

Yes, Anibal Sanchez is still in the big leagues. No, he's not any better than the last time you saw him. However, he's not even the worst starting pitcher on his own team, so there's that. Machado has tattooed Sanchez in his career. Manny is 8-for-17 with four career homers off of Sanchez. A couple of those came when Sanchez was much closer to his heyday than he is now. Look out in left field, Nats fans.

Elvis Andrus - SS, OAK at Lance McCullers, Jr. ($2,300 DK, $2,400 FD)

BvP isn't everything, but when a batter hits a pitcher like Andrus hits McCullers, we have to take a closer look. Elvis is 10-for-22 in his career against McCullers with four doubles and a homer. On top of that, Andrus is showing some signs of life at the plate. He's hitting .273 with a homer and two steals in August. He is also hitting .308 with a homer, eight RBI, and a steal in 39 at-bats against Houston pitchers this year. We're spending all over the place tonight. A punt like this allows for the rest of the bats and Elvis has good history against McCullers and his teammates.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Tyler Naquin - OF, NYM vs. Aaron Nola ($4,800 DK, $2,900 FD)

Here I am going after Nola again, but I told you I wouldn't do it without a reason. If you take away the strikeouts, Nola is an average pitcher for DFS. He gives up runs. Naquin is 2-for-3 with a homer off of Nola, but that's too small of a sample size to really rely on. What I'm relying on is opponents hitting .383 against Nola's changeup. Naquin smashes changeups and is hitting .367 with three homers and seven RBI since joining the Mets. He's in a great position to keep the hot streak going.

Eloy Jimenez - OF, CWS vs. Matt Manning ($4,500 DK, $2,900 FD)

It was never a question of if Eloy would get going this season, but when. The time is now. Jimenez is hitting a blistering .391 with four homers and nine RBI since the All-Star break. We don't have much of a barometer on Manning this year since this is only his third start, but his problem pitch last year was his slider. Nearly a third of the pitches Eloy has seen this year have been sliders and he is slashing .289/.379/.578 against them. The only pitch he hits better is a sinker, which Manning has brought out every once in while.

Mitch Haniger - OF, SEA at Dane Dunning ($3,800 DK, $3,400 FD)

This is nothing against Dunning. In fact, I think he'll have a pretty good game tonight. However, Haniger has been red-hot since his return from a prolonged IL stint last week. Haniger is 10-for-22 with a homer since rejoining the Seattle lineup. He has at least one hit in every game and has recorded three hits in a game twice in that span. His price still feels low on DK.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Here are my top stacks for tonight (in the order in which I like them):

San Diego Padres - Thanks to Patrick Corbin, Anibal Sanchez isn't the worst starting pitcher in the majors. He's close though. Sanchez has allowed eight homers in just 25 innings this year. His metrics say that he has been a touch unlucky, but a touch unlucky against a lineup like this is going to result in an early shower.

Houston Astros - Zach Logue put up an "impressive" 6.29 ERA at AAA Las Vegas to earn a return to Oakland. Yeah, his ERA is "only" 4.79 in the majors, but an unsustainable ground ball rate is a big reason for that. If the Astros hits balls in the air tonight, it's going to be raining (synthetic) rawhide in Houston. Yee haw!

Los Angeles Dodgers - I hate to pick on Brad Keller like this. He has been a solid pitcher at home, but his recent good run has been bolstered by strong starts against Detroit twice, Oakland twice, Boston, and the Angels. He got rocked by the White Sox, Rays, and Astros. You could put together an All-Star team from those three teams and still not touch the Dodgers lineup. It could be another long night for the Royals.

Honorable mention: New York Yankees
