DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (7/2/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Bryan Woo - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on July 2, 2023. Casey Wilson's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

I cannot believe we are one week away from the all-star break. We have a genuinely awesome slate tonight on the eve of Independence Day. These small slates are my bread and butter, and tonight fits that mold. Tonight's slate is loaded with pitching. We have nine viable options tonight of the 12 arms toeing the rubber.

I will cover the six-game slate starting at 7:05 pm in this article. As mentioned above, today's slate has a ton of pitching options. There are two arms that I expect to get the bulk of ownership of tonight. The issue is they are my two favorite arms on tonight's slate. There is an obvious opportunity to get some leverage by fading these two arms. I plan tonight to use both in two or three of my lineups. I will do my best to stack against them in my other lineup.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 7/2/2023 and the slate locking at 7:05 pm ET. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Now that we got all that out of the way, it's onto the picks! DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Blake Snell, SD vs. LAA ($8,600 DK, $10,900 FD)

Blake Snell has been one of the game's best-starting pitchers in June. Snell had five starts in the month. He scored 25 or more fantasy points in all five starts and had over 30 fantasy points in four. In June, Snell had a 3.77 SIERA, 31.5% K%, and 14.7% SwStr%. He has double-digit strikeouts in his last four starts. The price tag of $8,600 on DraftKings will make Snell the highest-owned pitcher of the slate, but with his recent trends, it's a very tough fade.

Snell will square off against the Angels, an excellent team against left-hand pitching. They own a 109 wRC+, .330 wOBA, .428 SLG, and a 22.2% K%. This alone makes me worry a bit about Snell's ownership, but the Angles haven't been the same team over the last month.

In June, against lefties, the Angels had an 89 wRC+, .300 wOBA, .381 SLG, and a 23.1% K%. If you trust the recent trends, Snell is a slam dunk tonight and a tough fade. As stated above, I will have one stack against him as a hedge, but he's hard to fade outside of that.

Bryan Woo, SEA at SF ($6,600 DK, $9,200 FD)

I again have no idea what DraftKings pricing algorithm is doing here with Bryan Woo. Since his call-up, Woo owns a 2.98 SIERA, 33.3% K%, and a 12.9% SwStr. Over his last four starts, Woo is averaging 21.2 fantasy points a game. For comparison, Joe Ryan, priced at $10,000, is averaging 20.8 fantasy points a game, and Clayton Kershaw, priced at $9,400, is averaging 21.8 fantasy points a game.

Woo gets an excellent matchup for strikeouts and upside with the San Fransisco Giants. The Giants have a 106 wRC+, .326 wOBA, .416 SLG, and a 24.5% K against right-hand pitching. The strikeouts are there, but there is reason for pause for concern. If Woo is as chalky as I think he will be, I don't mind a Giants stack for leverage. Pair Snell and Woo in cash and move on, but in GPPs, consider some of the guys listed below.

Also consider: Joe Ryan, Clayton Kershaw, Logan Webb, Tyler Wells

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Adley Rutschman - C, BAL vs. Domingo German ($5,100 DK, $3,000 FD)

The Orioles are one of my favorite stacks tonight, and Rutschman is one of my favorite bats in that stack. He has a .153 ISO, .337 wOBA, and a 44.1% hard hit against the split. He is expensive on DraftKings but gives us upside at the catcher position. On FanDuel, he is way too cheap for his production.

Ramon Urias - 1B/2B/3B, BAL vs. Domingo German ($2,800 DK, $2,500 FD)

Urias is a superb option tonight as he will come in sub-five percent owned and is in a great spot. German is coming off a perfect game but, on the season, has a 4.16 SIERA and a 1.66 HR/9. He has allowed a .223 ISO, .326 wOBA, and a 53.2% hard hit against righties this season. Over the last 30 days, Urias has a .204 ISO, .383 wOBA, and a 45.7% hard hit against the split.

Eduardo Escobar - 2B/3B, LAA vs. Blake Snell ($3,200 DK, $2,500 FD)

The newly acquired Eduardo Escobar will square off today against the chalk of the slate in Blake Snell. This is for leverage purposes only in non-Snell lineups, but Escobar is in a good spot. Snell has a .193 ISO, .343 wOBA, and a 51.4% hard hit against righties. Escobar, a switch hitter, has a .219 ISO, .361 wOBA, and a 52.0% hard hit against lefties.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Juan Soto - OF, SD vs. Jamie Barria ($5,600 DK, $3,700 FD)

Juan Soto faces Jamie Barria tonight. Barria has a 6.78 SIERA and a 4.35 HR/9 over his last three starts. Soto has a split advantage over Barria. He has a .272 ISO, .434 wOBA, and a 64.7% hard-hit rate against the split. Soto is my home run call of the night.

Trent Grisham - OF, SD vs. Jamie Barria ($2,600 DK, $2,600 FD)

Trent Grisham gets the same favorable matchup tonight against Jamie Barria. Grisham is the best value on the board tonight, coming in at $2,600 on both sites. He is the perfect addition to expensive Padres stacks. Grisham has a .211 ISO, .341 wOBA, and a 55.0% hard hit over the last 30 days.

Joc Pederson - OF, SF vs. Bryan Woo ($4,800 DK, $3,200 FD)

If Woo gets hit tonight, it will come from the lefties in the Giants lineup. Woo, on the season, has a .394 ISO, .547 wOBA, and a 56.0% hard hit against lefties. Pederson is the best lefty in this lineup with a .223 ISO, .376 wOBA, and a 67.6% hard hit. I love this leverage stack tonight because of the number of lefties the Giants will send to the plate.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. San Diego Padres vs. Jaime Barria

The Padres are the top stack on the board and will be the apparent choice in cash. If you are playing single entry or GPPs, I don't know if pairing Snell, Woo, and Padres bats would be a wise option. Ownership as lock approaches will determine what I do here. Barria has struggled with a 4.43 SIERA, 1.28 HR/9, and a 38.6% FB%.

Barria has been dreadful over his last three starts. He has struggled to a 6.78 SIERA, 4.35 HR/9, and a 47.6% FB%. He now will square off against the Padres, who come into this game on fire. The Padres have a 96 wRC+, .308 wOBA, and a .379 SLG against right-hand pitching. Over the last month, they have been even better. They own a 106 wRC+, .323 wOBA, and a .411 SLG. Recent trends again scream slam dunk here. The Padres will be my first bats into lineups tonight.

Favorite Plays: Juan Soto, Trent Grisham, Fernando Tatis Jr., Gary Sanchez, Manny Machado

2. Atlanta Braves vs. Gavin Williams

3. Baltimore Orioles vs. Domingo German

4. San Francisco Giants vs. Bryan Woo (Leverage)

5. Los Angeles Angels vs. Blake Snell (Leverage)

Fade: Minnesota Twins vs. Austin Cox

I expect the Twins to get some ownership here against Austin Cox. I would advise you to stay away, as the Twins are one of the worst teams in the big leagues against left-hand pitching. Cox has a 4.49 SIERA but only a 0.56 HR/9. The Twins own a 84 wRC+, .290 wOBA, .372 SLG and a 27.2% K%. Cox would be viable to use on a different slate, but instead, I will fade what should be chalky Twins bats.
