The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on May 3rd, 2022. Brian Entrekin's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Welcome back to another edition of the FREE DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks. Today we have a massive 11-game slate on tap. There are some solid pitching options, like many solid pitching options. Playing the roster rate game can come in handy with your pitchers, or eat the chalk with the two pitchers mentioned below—lots of ways to build, which is always lovely. 

It's a large slate meaning there will be a lot of ways to build tonight. After deciding on your two pitchers, we can stack them for days. Coors Field is definitely in play with some reasonably priced options like Juan Soto (too cheap). If you want to fade Coors, there are many other ways. Watch the weather, though, as we may get a windy one in Wrigley tonight.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for Fanduel and DraftKings on 5/3/2022. The lineup will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Brandon Woodruff - P, MIL vs. CIN ($8,900 DK, $9,700 FD)

Woodruff is coming off of a rough start versus the Pirates his last time when he did not make it five innings, allowed four runs, but still struck out 6. That came after two dominating starts versus the Pirates and Cardinals in his only two home starts. He threw 11 innings without allowing a run and striking out 11 over those two starts. Tonight, Woodruff is back home versus a Reds lineup you can exploit. They are striking out nearly 24% of the time versus RHP while hitting .202 with a .132 ISO. Look for a nice bounceback from Woodruff tonight.

Bruce Zimmermann - P, BAL vs. MIN ($6,100 DK, $9,500 FD)

This season, Zimmermann has been a beast, allowing only two earned runs over his four starts with at least four strikeouts in each start. He will take on a Twins team tonight who strikes out nearly 25% of the time versus LHP with a .234 average and .161 ISO. Zimmermann is a fantastic value on DK and appropriately priced on FD. However, he is not nearly the lock on FD on DK. His velocity has been down on the fastball, but he is getting a 12.3% SwStr on the season with a 74% contact rate and near 33% chase rate. I will be back on Zimmermann tonight.

Other options: Carlos Rodon at LAD ($10,000 DK, $11,100 FD), Alek Manoah vs. NYY ($9,700 DK, $10,400 FD), Joe Ryan at BAL ($9,500 DK, $10,200 FD), Julio Urias vs. SF ($8,400 DK, $9,400 FD), Paul Blackburn vs. TB ($7,700 DK, $8,400 FD)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Josh Bell - 1B, WAS at German Marquez ($4,500 DK, $3,900 FD)

Bell is having a fantastic season, hitting .351 with eight extra-base hits. He is only striking out 10.6% of the time while walking 14.9%. Quite the plate discipline skills to go with his 179 wRC+. Bell heads into Coors tonight and has a nice matchup versus Marquez. Marquez has allowed at least four runs in three straight starts and a near 50% hard-hit rate on the season. The Nats are affordable tonight, and Bell's red hot bat should be near the top of your options at first base.

Kolten Wong - 2B, MIL vs. Tyler Mahle ($4,100 DK, $2,600 FD)

Wong got off to a slow start to the season but may be turning things around late. In four of his last five games, he has hit safely with a .318 average, two doubles, and two stolen bases. Over these five games, Wong has a .830 OPS and 146 wRC+, which will play as he leads off for the Brewers. He will face Mahle tonight, which has allowed three earned runs or more in three of his last four starts. In addition, Mahle allows LHH to hit .302 with a .419 SLG and a near 14% walk rate. Look for Wong and the Brewers to be an excellent contrarian option tonight.

Bobby Witt Jr.- SS/3B, KC vs. Dakota Hudson ($2,900 DK, $2,800 FD)

Witt went 1-3 on Monday, which gives him a 10-game hitting streak since he has been moved down in the order. He has three extra-base hits to go with three stolen bases. His hard-hit rate is around 45%, and his overall quality of at-bats is getting much better. He will face Hudson tonight, who has been good in his last two starts, but on the season, his 2.75 ERA is deceiving when looking at his 4.54 xFIP. He allows a nearly 10% barrel rate and 45% hard-hit rate this season. Witt brings a great value tonight to go with a sneaky Royals stack if their bats wake up.

Tim Anderson- SS, CWS at Drew Smyly ($4,900 DK, $3,600 FD)

Anderson went 1-4 on Monday after hitting safely in five of his last seven games with multiple hits in all five games. Last week, Anderson had two home runs with a stolen base and an excellent 10% strikeout rate. He was barreling the ball 11.6% of the time with a 46% hard-hit rate. He has mashed LHP in his career, hitting over .300 in all but one season, and early on this season, he is hitting .571. He gets a great matchup versus Smyly tonight. Just watch the wind as it could be nasty in Wrigley. The shortstop position is loaded if you need to pivot.

 

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Kyle Tucker- OF, HOU vs. Chris Flexen ($4,400 DK, $3,500 FD)

On Monday night, Tucker went 2-4 and now has an eight-game hitting streak with multiple hits in five games. He is hitting nearly .600 over that streak with five extra-base hits and three stolen bases. Before Monday, Tucker was barreling the ball almost 17% of the time with a 50% hard-hit rate over the previous seven games. He gets a nice matchup versus a decent Flexen tonight, but I will take the red hot bat of Tucker at an excellent price tag instead.

Yadiel Hernandez - OF, WAS at German Marquez ($2,800 DK, $2,900)

Hernandez is one of the hottest hitters in baseball, and no one is talking about him. He comes into tonight's action hitting .340 with seven extra-base hits and a 150 wRC+. His .867 OPS goes nicely with his 14% barrel rate. Unfortunately, Hernandez is far too cheap for a matchup in Coors and honestly just too cheap for his current production. So feel free to eat the Hernandez chalk everywhere, especially in cash.

J.D. Martinez- OF, BOS vs. Noah Syndergaard ($4,200 DK, $3,700 FD)

Martinez has a strong season and brings a five-game hitting streak into tonight's game. He hit a home run on Sunday and, over the streak, has five extra-base hits to go with a .350 ISO and 1.250 OPS. He is only barreling the ball 6.7% of the time but has a hard-hit rate of 67%. Martinez is starting to mash and gets an exciting matchup versus Syndergaard tonight, who is overachieving to start the season.

 

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

 COORS STACK- Washington Nationals at Colorado Rockies (Erick Fedde, RHP at German Marquez, RHP)

Coors is usually a strong play, and a matchup of Marquez versus Fedde makes it a great play again tonight. Both teams are priced nice, and the Rockies should be the more popular play versus Fedde. But do not sleep on the Nats and their value with Soto, Bell, Hernandez, and others. If looking at Colorado, Ryan McMahon is priced nicely while paying more for Charlie Blackmon and Connor Joe.

Detroit Tigers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (Bryse Wilson, RHP)

Most will not look at the Tigers on a slate of this size, but they have an enticing matchup versus Wilson. Wilson has not made it past four innings this year, which means a lot of Pirates' pen. Javy Baez continues to be a play for me, and you can stack with Spencer Torkelson and a few others, depending on how the lineup is rolled out.

Houston Astros vs. Seattle Mariners (Chris Flexen, RHP)

Flexen has been solid this year, but I will continue to target the Astros bats as a monster game is coming. Tucker is my favorite play, but Yordan Alvarez is a close second. Jeremy Pena is also raking, while Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman should get going again. There could be some value depending on Chas McCormick and a few others tonight.

There are a lot of quality stacks tonight on such a large slate.
