DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (4/27/22): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Julio Urias - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Injury News, DFS and Betting Picks

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on April 27th, 2022. Juan Carlos Blanco's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Welcome back to another edition of the FREE DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks. As customary, we have an all-day ledger on tap Wednesday, and although DraftKings does not have a full-day slate, FanDuel does. Consequently, today's article will feature picks on both sites for games throughout the day, as even on DK, the suggestions will prove viable for someone playing one of the site's split slates.

There some particularly appealing pitching matchups Wednesday, with three pitchers in situations that I especially like. There is also a solid selection of high-upside bats in favorable matchups, and the good news is not all of them require cap-busting levels of investment.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for Fanduel and DraftKings on 4/27/2022 that includes a FanDuel main slate locking at 1:15 pm ET. The lineup will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. If you have any questions or comments, find me on Twitter and ask away!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Dylan Cease - P, CWS vs. KC ($8,500 DK, $9,600 FD)

Cease got hit hard by the Guardians last time out, but he's a quality right-hander that started off the season with a 2-0 mark that consisted of a pair of strong outings against the Rays and Tigers in which he recorded eight strikeouts apiece. Cease now draws a favorable matchup against a Royals team that entered Tuesday night's action with a .216 average, .618 OPS, .281 wOBA, and -7.6 wRAA versus right-handed pitching. Cease has a 9-3 mark, 3.11 ERA, and 11.2 K/9 at Guaranteed Rate Field since the start of the 2020 season, and current Royals bats have a collective .205/.295/.302 slash line and 40 strikeouts in 156 career encounters with him.

Julio Urias - P, LAD at ARI ($7,800 DK, $9,400 FD)

Urias got his season off to a rocky start against the Rockies at Coors, but he's quickly put that behind him with a pair of five-inning outings against the Reds and Padres in which he's allowed just an earned run on three hits while recording 11 strikeouts. A 20-game winner a season ago, Urias is teed up for another potentially fruitful fantasy effort Wednesday afternoon against a Diamondbacks squad he's frequently dominated in the past and that's been abysmal versus left-handed pitching early in the season. Current Arizona bats have a .140 average and tiny .393 OPS against Urias in 91 career plate appearances, while the D-Backs went into Tuesday night's action with an MLB-low .170 average, .245 wOBA, and 56 wRC+ against southpaws in a sample of 151 plate appearances.

Other options: Pablo Lopez, MIA at WAS ($9,900 DK, $10,400 FD)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - 1B, at Michael Wacha  ($5,800 DK, $4,000 FD)

Guerrero was on base another two times in Tuesday's extra-inning win over the Red Sox, pushing his OBP to an even .400, a stellar figure he's complementing with a .328 average and .594 slugging percentage. The powerful slugger is already raking against right-handed pitching, posting a .362 average, .454 wOBA, and 203 wRC+ in that split, along with a 39.6 percent hard-contact rate. In turn, Wacha has been very effective against right-handed hitters in a small sample thus far this season, but he yielded a .275 average, .335 wOBA, and 1.4 HR/9 to that handedness a season ago.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. - 2B, MIA at Erick Fedde  ($5,300 DK, $4,100 FD)

Chisholm has started off the season in fine form, slashing .286/.327/.673 and lacing nine of his 13 hits for extra bases thus far. The talented outfielder often works out of the leadoff spot against right-handed pitching and brings a great power/speed combo, making him a very appealing option to roll out against Fedde. Chisholm already has a pair of homers and just one strikeout against Fedde in 11 career encounters, and the Nationals right-hander has already given up a .325 average and .394 wOBA to the first 47 left-handed hitters he's faced this season. For his part, Chisholm is teeing off on right-handed pitching, posting a .333 average, four homers, .512 wOBA, 26.1 percent line-drive rate, and 43.5 percent hard-contact rate in that split.

Trevor Story - SS, BOS at Ross Stripling ($4,600 DK, $3,300 FD)

Story is off to a relatively slow start in Boston, but, like Chisholm, can supply both stolen-base upside and power while occasionally manning the leadoff spot. The slugging shortstop draws a solid matchup against Stripling, who's given up a .275 average and .337 wOBA to right-handed hitters during his career. Stripling has just a 58.3 percent LOB rate, 4.5 K/9, and 3.6 BB/9 through his first 10 innings this season as well, while Story has a .278 average against righties on the road thus far and a .333 average with a pair of homers in nine career encounters against Stripling.

Eduardo Escobar - 3B, NYM at Steven Matz  ($4,900 DK, $3,600)

The switch-hitting Escobar makes for great right-handed exposure to Matz, who's given up a .298 average and .335 wOBA to right-handed hitters in a 50-batter sample this season. Escobar has enjoyed most of his early success versus lefties, generating a .357 average and .491 wOBA over a small sample of 16 plate appearances. That isn't exactly an outlier, as Escobar boasts a .275 average and .801 OPS versus southpaws since the start of the 2020 season. Escobar also happens to be a standout hitter against Matz's signature pitch, the sinker; while Matz has yielded a .444 average and .425 wOBA when using the sinker thus far this season, Escobar has crushed that offering for a .375 average and .409 wOBA, and a .319 average and .375 wOBA against the pitch in his career.

Other options: Matt Olson - 1B, ATL vs. Mark Leiter Jr. ($5,000 DK, $3,800 FD); Carlos Correa - SS, MIN vs. Michael Pineda ($4,800 DK, $2,900 FD)

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Trey Mancini - OF, BAL at Jordan Montgomery  ($2,600 DK, $2,600 FD)

Mancini is off to a slow start with a .234/.282/.328 slash line thus far, but he's a much better hitter than those numbers imply and is always a consideration against a left-handed pitcher. He gets such a matchup versus Montgomery, who he's tormented for a .435 average with only five strikeouts across 27 career plate appearances. Mancini boasts a .295 average, .907 OPS, and 12 home runs against southpaws since the start of the 2020 season, and despite his slow start this season, he's carrying a .364 average, .433 wOBA, and .227 ISO versus lefties.

Juan Soto - OF, WAS vs. Pablo Lopez  ($5,300 DK, $3,700 FD)

Lopez has gotten off to a stellar start this season and is even my alternate pitching suggestion, but I wouldn't hesitate to roll out the elite Soto against him. The slugger got on base three more times Tuesday to push his OBP to an outstanding .422, and he's already punishing right-handed pitching for a .333 average, .487 wOBA, and 1.131 OPS this season. Lopez's weakness has been left-handed hitters during his career, as he's allowed them a .278 average and .327 wOBA on the road. It's worth noting Soto has been one of those lefty bats that has given him trouble, as he owns a .421 average with three doubles, two homers, and three walks across 22 career plate appearances.

Yordan Alvarez - OF, HOU at Glenn Otto  ($5,500 DK, $3,200 FD)

Alvarez got himself back to the Mendoza Line with a 2-for-3 effort Tuesday, but he's naturally still performing way below his standards. However, his talent gives the lefty slugger the ability to break out in any given game, and he may have a great target to do that with in Otto. The young righty is off to a solid start this season, but he's allowed a .395 average, 1.031 OPS, and .441 wOBA to the first 42 lefty bats he's faced in his career. Alvarez has been very unlucky when putting the ball in play this season -- he went into Tuesday night's action with an absurd .097 BABIP and .399 xwOBA -- and he was still boasting a .425 wOBA, 1.002 OPS, and .448 ISO against right-handed hitters in 32 plate appearances.

Other options: Marcell Ozuna, ATL vs. Mark Leiter Jr. ($3,500 DK, $3,000 FD)
