DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (4/3/19): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on April 3rd, 2019. Justin Bales' MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

This is an extremely odd slate for the day. There are 14 total games, but DraftKings currently has two five game slates. With that being said, they have a 14 game "All Day" slate, and I'll be writing up the plays for that slate. That way, we get a few plays from every slate.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 4/3/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too.

If you have any questions or comments, contact me on Twitter @BalesSJustin

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Jacob deGrom - P, at MIA ($12,700)

deGrom enjoyed an elite 2018 season, posting a 10-9 record with a 1.70 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP. He also held his opponents to a 0.4 HR/9, while also recording an 11.2 K/9 over 217 innings. deGrom gets an elite matchup against the Miami Marlins in an extremely pitcher friendly stadium. Miami ranks second on the slate in strikeouts per at-bat, while also ranking fourth last in team wOBA. deGrom is a -211 favorite in a game set at 6.5 runs, giving the Marlins an implied run total of only 2.8 runs.

Charlie Morton - P, vs COL ($8,800)

Morton gets a great matchup against the Colorado Rockies, who are a team that strikes out at an extremely high clip. They will also be playing in one of the most pitcher friendly stadiums in the MLB, and Colorado has struggled away from Coors at times. Morton is also coming off of a dominant season for the Houston Astros, recording a 15-3 record with a 3.24 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP over 31 starts. He also posted a 10.8 K/9 with a 1.0 HR/9 over 169.1 innings. Morton is a -125 favorite in a game set at 7 runs, and the Rockies feature an implied run total of only 3.3 runs.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Gary Sanchez - C, vs DET ($4,900)

Sanchez is coming off of a down season, hitting only .185 over 94 games. With that being said, he hit for a .413 slugging percentage and a .700 OPS. That season seemed more like an outlier than the expected, though, and he should get back on track this year. He's a player that's at his best against left-handed pitching, as he owns 0.109 wOBA and 0.13 ISO differentials against lefties. He gets a plus matchup against Matt Boyd in an extremely hitter friendly stadium, and Sanchez makes an elite tournament option today.

Joey Votto - 1B, vs MIL ($4,000)

This is an elite matchup for Votto. Freddy Peralta is an extremely wild pitcher, while Votto owns arguably the best plate discipline in the MLB. He should find himself ahead in the count, adding to his power potential today. Surprisingly, Votto was significantly less consistent at home last season, but he'll be playing in an extremely hitter friendly stadium. He makes a strong cash game option, while also coming with plenty of upside today, as well.

Kike Hernandez - 2B, vs SF ($4,200)

Hernandez is a player that has been significantly better against left-handed pitching throughout his career. Overall, he owns a .268 average with a .492 slugging percentage and a .848 OPS against lefties in his career. He also posted a .223 ISO against lefties since 2014. Tonight, he gets a matchup against Derek Holland at home, and Hernandez is expected to lead off for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He makes a strong option in all leagues.

Rafael Devers - 3B, at OAK ($4,100)

Devers is expected to hit third in the Boston Red Sox lineup when they face right-handed pitching. He has always been better against righties, recording 0.059 wOBA and 0.086 ISO differentials against them. Tonight, he gets a great matchup against Marco Estrada, who has struggled with home runs. Devers makes a high upside option, but he also makes sense in cash games because of the size of this slate.

Jose Peraza - SS, vs MIL ($3,700)

Peraza looked outstanding at home last season, posting a .283 average with a .424 slugging percentage and a .762 OPS over 79 games. He gets a plus matchup against Freddy Peralta, who is a high upside pitcher, but has struggled with control. Peraza isn't expected to hit high in the lineup, but he comes with a relatively low price tag. He's a high upside option for his position, as well.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Kyle Schwarber - OF, at ATL ($4,600)

Schwarber is coming off of a somewhat down season, but he still posted elite upside. He recorded a .238 average with a .466 slugging percentage and an .821 OPS over 138 games. He also dominated right-handed pitching, posting 0.046 wOBA and 0.172 ISO differentials against them. Tonight, he gets a matchup against Julio Teheran in an extremely hitter friendly stadium for left-handed power hitters. He's a strong tournament option.

Robbie Grossman - OF, vs BOS ($3,400)

Grossman is coming off of a solid season, but he struggles to hit for power. Overall, he posted a .273 average with a .384 slugging percentage and a .751 OPS. He gets a solid matchup against Nathan Eovaldi, who is far from a consistent pitcher option. Grossman is expected to lead off for the Oakland A's, and he's simply a cheap source of at-bats on the slate tonight.
