DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (4/22/19): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on April 22nd, 2019. Daniel E. Dobish's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

For Monday's slate of Major League Baseball games, I'll focus on the contests (first pitch of 7:05 PM EST and later). Be sure to double-check the weather and the lineups before finalizing your roster.

There will be some possible light rain affecting the start of the Philadelphia Phillies-New York Mets battle, although the game should get started with minimal interruption. At Fenway Park, the Detroit Tigers-Boston Red Sox game has a 70 percent or greater chance of rain all day, so it's likely we'll have a postponement in that game. If they do get underway they will face a stiff 11-14 mph wind blowing in directly from center field to home plate. It's best to avoid all Tigers and Red Sox just to be on the same side. Wind will be a factor at Busch Stadium for the Milwaukee Brewers-St. Louis Cardinals battle, blowing 12-15 mph out to left field.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 4/22/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. Be sure to also check out all the Vegas Odds for today's slate. If you have any questions or comments, contact me on Twitter @danieledobish.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Yonny Chirinos - P, TB vs. KC ($7,400)

Chirinos has piled up 17.5 Fantasy Points Per Game (FPPG), yet he flies under the radar with a low salary. Take advantage. While he was torched in a start April 12 in Toronto, allowing six earned runs in just 2 1/3 innings, he has won his other three appearances while allowing a total of just one earned run and five hits in 17 innings. Overall he has posted a 0.83 WHIP, and he has just four walks to 19 strikeouts over 19 1/3 innings.

Brad Peacock - P HOU vs. MIN ($8,200)

The Astros enter play with a 7-3 mark across their past 10 games against right-handed starting pitching, and they're 6-1 in Peacocks' past seven starts overall, and 6-1 in his past seven home outings, too. Conversely, the Twins are just 1-8 in their past nine road outings, and 1-10 in his past 11 road starts against teams with a winning overall mark. That bodes well for Peacock's outlook on Monday night, and his 0.81 WHIP across two starts and four outings doesn't hurt, either.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Yasmani Grandal - C, MIL at STL ($4,100)

Grandal has been raking, checking in fifth among all catchers with a .338 average (22-for-65) with two doubles, five homers and 10 RBI. He also ranks second among all backstops in runs scored (14), behind only Seattle's Omar Narvaez, and Grandal is one of just two catchers with an OPS over 1.013 or higher.

Trey Mancini - 1B, BAL vs. CWS ($4,900)

Mancini will get a crack at LHP Manny Banuelos, and that should bode well for him and his owners. He is slashing a robust .379/.455/.759 with five doubles and two homers in 29 at-bats against left-handed starting pitchers.

Kolten Wong - 2B, STL vs. MIL ($4,400)

You'll want plenty of Cards and Brewers with a Jetstream blowing out to left field. Wong has managed a solid .320/.444/.600 slash line vs. right-handed pitching, collected seven extra-base hits with 10 RBI, 10 walks and 10 strikeouts while also adding 10 runs scored.

Yoan Moncada - 3B, CWS at BAL ($4,900)

Moncada has been one of the most consistent hitters from the hot corner, posting a .322 average with three doubles, six homers and 13 RBI vs. RHP, also posting 13 runs scored. While he has managed 18 strikeouts in just 59 at-bats, the power numbers make him worth using most nights. That's especially true against O's RHP David Hess, who enters with a subpar 5.57 ERA across 21 innings.

Gleyber Torres - SS, NYY at LAA ($3,900)

Torres has rolled up some decent numbers vs. RHP. While his .269 average is just so-so, he has four doubles, four homers and eight RBI in 67 at-bats against righties, and he could be in for a productive night against Angels RHP Matt Harvey, who has an ugly 0-2 record, 9.64 ERA and 1.82 WHIP, while opponents are hitting a collective .333 against him through 18 2/3 innings across four outings.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Joey Gallo - OF, TEX at OAK ($5,000)

Gallo doesn't have a great average, but that's not why you grab him in DFS. You grab him for his tremendous power, and it could be on full display against RHP Chris Bassitt, who makes his first start of the season. Gallo has 10 extra-base hits, including six homers, vs. RHP, and he has a .755 slugging percentage and 1.162 OPS.

Tommy Pham - OF, TB vs. KC ($4,300)

Pham enters play with four homers, 10 RBI, nine walks and a solid .297/.387/.484 slash line against right-handed pitching.
