DraftKings College Basketball DFS Lineup Picks for 2/5/22 - CBB Daily Fantasy Advice

CBB DFS lineup picks DraftKings NCAA daily college fantasy basketball

We have another big slate with 12 games on the main slate today. We have a huge 10-game afternoon slate as well. It's going to be a big day of college basketball! I'm going to cover both of them today and see what we get out of that. We begin at noon with Illinois heading to Bloomington, Bedlam in Stillwater, Wake heading to Florida State, Villanova hosting UConn, and St John's heading to Indy to take on Butler. An hour later, Auburn tips in Athens along with Tennessee at South Carolina. An hour after that we have Iowa State in Austin, Texas Tech heading to West Virginia, Louisville in the Carrier Dome, and Xavier hosting DePaul. We close down the main slate with Michigan at Purdue.

The afternoon slate starts at 3 Eastern with Notre Dame heading to North Carolina State a full hour earlier than everyone else. Michigan State is at Rutgers and Kansas hosts Baylor at 4. We have Miami at Virginia and Arizona hosting USC at 5. 6 brings LSU to Nashville, Wisconsin hosting Penn State, Colorado hosting Oregon State, and North Carolina hosting Duke. We finish it off with Virginia Tech at Pitt. This is going to be another huge Saturday!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 2/5/22 starting at noon Eastern. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

Early Slate:

Wendell Green, Auburn ($8,000)

If I weren't worried about Florida State getting steamrolled, I might pay up for Williams. The next best option appears to be Green. Auburn is a team that will get out there and run with Georgia. They put up 83 points in the first meeting. Green's knee issue appears to be behind him if the Alabama game is any indication. He racked up 42.5 DraftKings points against the rival. Georgia can't really stop anyone. Expect another strong line from Green here.

Caleb Mills, Florida State ($6,000)

The Seminoles will be without Anthony Polite, Malik Osborne, and Naheem McLeod for today's game. That should put Mills and maybe Matthew Cleveland back in the starting lineup. Mills is the more capable scorer and the Seminoles are going to need that with little presence up front. He doesn't to a lot besides score, but Mills has scored 16 or more points in six of the last nine games. Jalen Warley might be the guy to look at for a Florida State value guard.

Jordan Goldwire, Oklahoma ($5,600)

The Duke transfer came to Oklahoma to be more of a scorer. That hasn't really materialized until recently. Goldwire has scored in double figures in four of the last six games, including 32 combined over the last two games alone. The defense and passing has continued to be a strength as well, making Goldwire a high-value target in this price range.

Adonis Arms, Texas Tech ($4,300)

Arms has reclaimed his place in the starting lineup over the past couple of games and has racked up 57 DraftKings points in 59 minutes. That's a hell of a pace for a Texas Tech player. These guys make a point of slowing games down and roughing them up. Arms only recorded one point on Tuesday night, but still had good enough peripheral stats to hit value. It's not chasing value when he doesn't even have to score to be safe. Arms is a lock with decent upside.

Also consider: Alondes Williams, Wake Forest ($9,800); R.J. Cole, Connecticut ($7,800); K.D. Johnson, Auburn ($6,500); Zakai Zeigler, Tennessee ($6,200); Eli Brooks, Michigan ($5,200); Rondel Walker, Oklahoma State ($4,600)

Afternoon Slate:

Scotty Pippen Jr, Vanderbilt ($8,500)

Pippen has topped 42 DraftKings points in three straight games now. He is carrying Vandy of late. LSU's defense is going to be a tough test, but considering that Kentucky had no answer for Pippen, I'm not sure LSU will either. He's not as much of a lock for me as he was the last couple of games, but I wouldn't be shocked if he hit 40 again. It might just be a little bit tougher today.

Terquavion Smith, North Carolina State ($7,500)

Seabron gets most of the attention, but that has been what has allowed Smith to erupt lately. He has 93 DraftKings points over the last two games alone! The bad news is that he had a sub-optimal 20.25 DraftKings points against Notre Dame the game before this little heater. However, I don't see Smith going 1-for-9 from the field again like he did in that first meeting. Is he going to crack 40 again? Doubtful, since the Irish are masters of making games messy. He could still get close with as hot as he's running though.

Eric Gaines, LSU ($6,500)

Xavier Pinson is expected to be out again. Brandon Miller is dealing with a sore wrist. Justice Williams has a bum toe. That leaves Gaines as the only fully healthy guard for the Tigers. Even if Vanderbilt does run away with this game, I expect a good showing by Gaines in a losing effort while LSU is trying to hang around. There isn't much healthy enough on his team to steal his thunder.

Leaky Black, North Carolina ($4,700)

Black isn't going to do anything to wow you, but he will play at least 35 minutes and he's active on the court. He has averaged 25 DraftKings points per game in the four games since returning to the starting lineup. We're not relying on Black for scoring, so I feel he's a safe value against Duke since he does enough else on the court.

Also consider: Johnny Davis, Wisconsin ($9,100); Dereon Seabron, North Carolina State ($8,100); Blake Wesley, Notre Dame ($6,800); Boogie Ellis, USC ($6,500); Kihei Clark, Virginia ($5,200); Storm Murphy, Virginia Tech ($4,300)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Early Slate:

Walker Kessler, Auburn ($9,400)

Kessler is the main reason that Auburn has taken the number one ranking and held onto it. He has 97.25 DraftKings points in just 59 minutes over the last two games. It's not like he was playing poorly before that either. Kessler hasn't seen the wrong side of 30 DraftKings points since he fouled out in 11 minutes against Alabama back on January 11. He put up 38 in the first meeting with Georgia, so I see that as the floor for this matchup.

Jack Nunge, Xavier ($7,500)

The Musketeers have moved Nunge to the starting five and he hasn't cooled off yet. He has at least 24 DraftKings points in each of the last six games. One of those was against DePaul, a game in which he netted 32 DraftKings points. This level of production seems sustainable. Nunge has scored in single digits in two of those six games and still come out with a serviceable score thanks to his blocks and rebounds. He is averaging just over eight rebounds and two blocks per game in that span. I like him to have another strong game against the Blue Demons.

Kevin Obanor, Texas Tech ($6,100)

Everyone thinks that just because Tech has a great defense that they don't score a lot of points. That isn't exactly true, and I sometimes fall into this trap as well. DraftKings certainly did as we have seen with some of the prices on Tech value plays. Obanor has scored in double figures in five straight and seven of the last eight games. That's on top of his normal glass work and good defense. The Red Raiders have topped 70 points in six of the last eight. I'll have a lot of Red Raiders value to make things fit on the main slate.

John Butler, Florida State ($4,100)

I've mentioned the injuries for Florida State. I would bet that Butler is going to see a lot of minutes even if Florida State does run four guards in this game. Tanner Ngom and Harrison Prieto are interesting if you're strapped for cash. Wake is a pretty big team up front, so I don't see Florida State running four guards and sustaining it for long periods of time. Butler has 34.5 DraftKings points over the last two games in the starting lineup. He's a strong value play on the main slate.

Also consider: Kofi Cockburn, Illinois ($9,300); Trayce Jackson-Davis, Indiana ($8,600); Jabari Smith, Auburn ($8,100); Race Thompson, Indiana ($7,300); Isaiah Whaley, Connecticut ($5,300); Khadim Sy, Wake Forest ($4,700)

Afternoon Slate:

Armando Bacot, North Carolina ($9,300)

This has bad news written all over it for Duke. They struggle with bigs anyway. If it weren't for some guy named Oscar Tshiebwe, Bacot would be the talk of college basketball. He has at least ten rebounds in every game since December 11. Bacot isn't quite the scorer that Tshiebwe is, but that just means his ceiling is around 45 instead of 60. I'll gladly pay this price since Duke is a potential ceiling game for Bacot.

Jabari Walker, Colorado ($8,000)

After a promising 2019-20 season, Walker battled injuries and COVID last year and never really hit his stride. He is once again showing the promise he had as a freshman before COVID hit. Walker has at least 23 DraftKings points in every game since the restart except for an all-around bad game for the Ralphies against Arizona early last month. This is another good matchup for Walker. He's a walking double-double like Bacot, but he doesn't clean the glass quite as well.

Keve Aluma, Virginia Tech ($6,700)

I like both Aluma and Justyn Mutts here, but I still think Aluma has the higher upside. He's just cheaper because of a foul-riddled disaster against Florida State last weekend in which he only took four shots the entire game. That is the exception, not the rule. He rebounded nicely against Georgia Tech with 32.75 DraftKings points. That's been about where Aluma has been since the restart. Expect more of the same today.

Roman Silva, Oregon State ($4,900)

The hard minutes cap on Warith Alatishe has resulted in more time for both Jarod Lucas and Silva. Silva is going to be a matchup problem for Colorado. He has become more aggressive on offense with Alatishe only playing six minutes per half. He has 77 DraftKings points over the last three games fueled by his newfound confidence on offense. Silva is a great value here.

Also consider: Paolo Banchero, Duke ($8,800); Brady Manek, North Carolina ($7,400); Mark Williams, Duke ($7,100); Jayden Gardner ($6,400); Clifford Omoruyi, Rutgers ($6,200); Jeremy Sochan, Baylor ($5,700); Marcus Bingham, Michigan State ($4,700); Josh Morgan, USC ($3,400)
