If you're new here, all we do is hunt for dingers every day. Some of my fellow writers will offer up three or four home run props, but lately I have been going with a "more is more" approach as I wrote up six bets for Monday, and I have another five spots circled for tonight!
In this article, you'll read about my favorite home run props from MLB games on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. MLB Prop Bets - Today's Home Run Prop Picks (8/27/2025)
Here are all the hitters I'll cover for HR props on Wednesday, August 27:
- Corey Seager, Texas Rangers
- George Springer, Toronto Blue Jays
- Yordan Alvarez, Houston Astros
- Dansby Swanson, Chicago Cubs
- Rafael Devers, San Francisco Giants
Corey Seager OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+285 FanDuel)
We kick things off with a few hot-hitting veterans with fantastic matchups in Seager and Springer. Seager hit his 20th bomb last night and continues to rake against righties. He's hitting .290 and slugging .494 against RHP this season with a fantastic 18.1% barrel rate on the season.

We simply can't pass up the matchup with Jack Kochanowicz of the Angels here. The Angels righty has been tormented by left-handed hitters this season, allowing 15 home runs, a .520 SLG%, and a ridiculous 50.9% HardHit%. Look for Seager to get some pitches that he can handle tonight, and hopefully, he can drive one out of the park to get us some early evening cash.
George Springer OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+300 FanDuel)
Springer comes into tonight's game in fantastic form as well. The ageless wonder hit two bombs last night while going 4-5 at the plate against the Twins and now has six home runs over the last 10 days.

Today, the Blue Jays have a nice matchup against Simeon Woods Richardson, who rejoins the Minnesota rotation for the first time in a month. Woods Richardson has had a lackluster season even when healthy, allowing 12 home runs and an 11.1% barrel rate. He's been bad against hitters from both sides of the plate, but his 14.6% barrel rate and 46.1% HardHit% to righties stand out.
Springer's numbers against four-seamers and sliders also popped in a big way when I broke down the pitch mix matchup, so why not roll with the hot bat and what sticks out as a plus matchup all around?

Yordan Alvarez OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+320 FanDuel)
He's back! The Astros survived the absence of their best hitter for most of the season and are still positioned to make the playoffs. Houston fans have to be thrilled. This Houston lineup has been missing the big, powerful lefty, and now looks very scary for opposing right-handed pitchers, especially with the addition of Jesus Sanchez at the deadline.

Alvarez returned last night with two walks in four plate appearances. We don't have much data to go off this season, but he's been one of the best left-handed power bats in baseball over the last few years. I have to like this spot for him, as he'll face rookie Chase Dollander, who throws a ton of fastballs and has struggled with giving up the long ball (16 this season and 10 to lefties).
This feels like the right spot for Alvarez to get his first home run since coming off the IL. Dollander isn't afraid to challenge hitters with his high-90s fastball, though he should probably be careful with Alvarez!
Dansby Swanson OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+700 DraftKings)
Here's my biggest longshot bet of the night. It took me some time to find the Cubs hitter that I wanted, but I absolutely have to bet against the left-hander on the hill for the Giants tonight - Carson Whisenhunt.
Whisenhunt leads the slate with an awful 6.65 xERA and 2.45 HR/9. His 14% Barrel% is also the worst number of any pitcher on the board tonight.
So when I see a pitcher with numbers like those and some favorable winds blowing out in San Francisco tonight, I simply have to take a shot on a Cubbie, even if their offense has been slumping.
Seiya Suzuki has the best splits against lefties, but his power has disappeared in the second half of the season, and he doesn't profile quite as well as the Chicago shortstop Swanson. When we dig into Whisenhunt's pitch mix, he only throws three pitches, and two of those pitches (his sinker and changeup) comprise 86% of his usage.
Whisenhunt's sinker has been hit extremely hard, too. He's allowed a .472 SLG on the pitch, and it carries an xSLG of .671, meaning he's even been a bit lucky with the batted ball results. When we dig into the Chicago hitters' numbers against left-handed sinkers, Swanson stands out with a .436 AVG, .538 ISO, and two home runs. His 45% GB% against the pitch proves that he can hit it for line drives or fly balls, which is what I am looking for.
It's been about three weeks since Swanson's last home run, which is why we are getting such great odds. We had to dig in deep for this one, but I like our chances with how well the pitch mix numbers line up.
Rafael Devers OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+380 DraftKings)
Flipping to the other side of this game, it's been a slower second half for Rafael Devers in San Francisco, but I love the way he matches up here against Cubs' righty Colin Rea.
Rea has surrendered 13 home runs to lefties this season and has a .504 SLG. Let's not sleep on Devers, who has 18 long balls this season against RHP and a .490 SLG.
Rea throws as many as seven different pitches, but he's still very heavy on the four-seamer (43%) in terms of his usage. He's allowed 10 home runs on fastballs this season as the pitch has carried a .509 xSLG. Devers can turn around a fastball with the best of them, and I'm taking a shot on him mashing one tonight against a very mediocre pitcher.
