Bank Of America ROVAL 400: DFS NASCAR Lineup Sleepers And Drivers To Avoid

Carnage race week is finally here as the series heads to the Charlotte ROVAL. Last year Ryan Blaney took down the first-ever ROVAL race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and has qualified ninth once again (Can you say Deja Vu?).  Being that this race is only two years old, we'll take a look back to see how things shook out last year to get some insight on what to expect in 2019.

One thing that's important to note when playing DFS this week is to grab some guys who are toward the rear regardless of strength at the track. We're in for some wild action that even NASCAR's biggest names can't avoid. This race is truly one of my favorites, and after bringing home another first-place finish last week for RotoBaller, It's time to saddle up, and get the foundation built once again.

What We Learned At Richmond

  • Martin Truex Jr owns Richmond.
  • Erik Jones was the guy who stole money in Monopoly when other players weren't looking.
  • Bubba Wallace is running well with no playoff stress.
  • Ryan Newman isn't going anywhere without a fight.

 

DFS Lineup Sleepers - Bank of America ROVAL 400

David Ragan

Last year, Ragan put up 42 FPTS after starting 30th at this track. In Friday's first practice, Ragan ran a lap speed of 101.420 and finished in 12th place. With his qualifying position of 27th, Ragan is a guy that could give you a solid floor at a low price.

Ross Chastain

I'm not going to say some watermelons will be smashed in victory lane this Sunday, but I'm definitely keeping my eyes on Chastain. In both road course races this season, Chastain has managed to finish both with positive placement. Chastain qualified 37th for Sunday's race, and put up 31 FPTS last year running the ROVAL.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Stenhouse Jr. received some tough news this past week. In 2020, Stenhouse Jr. will be replaced by Chris Buescher, and that could be the fuel he needs to step his game up this Sunday. Stenhouse Jr. was caught up in a wreck last time at this track, but also led 2 laps after starting 23rd.

 

DFS Lineup Avoids - Bank of America ROVAL 400

Brad Keselowski

My first thought about Keselowski running this track was "Slam Brad K's: Wall Edition" (el oh el). Keselowski led 29 laps at last year's ROVAL race, but ended up "Hitting The Woah" a lot harder than he would have liked to. I see this situation happening again and I'm not willing to throw $10,000 down on Draftkings for that.

Austin Dillon

The only thing that will break your soul harder that chugging a fifth of Jack Daniels this weekend is starting Austin Dillon driving a Jack Daniels car. It may look cool, but don't let this disguise fool you. Dillon is just not a good road course racer, and could land you a seat in the losers circle this weekend in DFS.

Jimmie Johnson

Johnson had a rough third practice on Saturday. Johnson and his team are making repairs, and he will be starting higher than before due to his teammate (Alex Bowman)  moving to the rear. Expect to see him running good in the beginning of the race, but I have a feeling it will be all downhill from there (you've been warned).
