Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jeff Carter came to an agreement on a two-year, $6.25 million contract extension with the club on Wednesday. The 37-year-old could have been an unrestricted free agent after the current season came to an end, while the two-year deal has an average annual value of $3.125 million. Carter has totaled 12 goals and 14 assists through 36 games this season, while scoring 21 goals through 50 games since he was acquired by the Penguins in a trade with the Kings last season. Carter has played alongside center Evgeni Malkin and right winger Kasperi Kapanen, giving all three forwards significant value across standard fantasy formats.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
