Washington Football Team defensive end Montez Sweat (jaw) suffered a fractured jaw in the Week 8 loss to the Denver Broncos and could miss as much as a month, according to sources. The 25-year-old is expected to avoid surgery for the non-displaced fracture, but it will be a big blow to a Washington defense that has struggled for much of the season after being hyped up in the offseason. Sweat, who has combined with first-rounder Chase Young for only 5.5 sacks as the team heads into their bye week, won't be allowed to have any physical contact for a month. He had started 40 straight games since entering the league in 2019. With Sweat out for the foreseeable future, backups Casey Toohill and James Smith-Williams should play more snaps on defense.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
