Carson Wentz And Zach Pascal Placed On COVID-19 List

The Indianapolis Colts placed quarterback Carson Wentz, wide receiver Zach Pascal and center Ryan Kelly on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday. According to Tom Pelissero, they were all close contacts with a Colts staff member who tested positive for COVID-19. They will be required to distance themselves from the team for five days. After that, assuming they continuously test negative and remain asymptomatic, they will be able to rejoin the team. This is particularly rough news for Wentz, who is working his way back from foot surgery. Colts head coach Frank Reich said he wanted to see Wentz practice in back-to-back days before declaring him the starter for Week 1. This week's development is a setback, but Wentz could still get in enough work to prepare himself to start the team's Week 1 game against the Seattle Seahawks on September 12.
